  • Publication number: 20090103062
Abstract: A lithographic apparatus includes a projection system configured to project a patterned radiation beam onto a target portion of a substrate. The projection system has a final element. The apparatus also includes a barrier member surrounding a space between the projection system and, in use, the substrate, to define in part with the final element a reservoir for liquid. The barrier member is spaced from the final element to define a gap therebetween. The apparatus further includes a deformable seal between a radially outer surface of the final element and a radially outer surface of the barrier member. The deformable seal is configured to substantially prevent a gas from flowing past the seal towards or away from the reservoir of liquid.

  • Patent number: 7518703
Abstract: A lithographic apparatus is arranged to project a patterned radiation beam from a patterning device onto a substrate using a projection system. The lithographic apparatus comprises: an illumination system configured to condition a radiation beam; a support constructed to support a patterning device, the patterning device being capable of imparting the radiation beam with a pattern in its cross-section to form a patterned radiation beam; a substrate table constructed to hold a substrate; a projection system configured to project the patterned radiation beam onto a target portion of the substrate; and a measurement system for measuring the wavefront aberration or other property of the apparatus. The measurement system comprises: a source module at the level of the substrate table for providing an effective source of radiation; and a sensor unit at the level of the support, for receiving radiation from the source module through the projection system for performing the measurement.

  • Patent number: 7336445
Abstract: A magnetic recording device makes use of an “anchored” conductive stud which is securely attached within its surrounding insulator materials. The conductive stud is formed over a conductive layer which is coupled to or part of a read or a write head element of the magnetic recording device. The conductive stud has a top stud portion and a bottom undercut portion formed over the conductive layer. In one illustrated embodiment, the bottom undercut portion has a width that is greater than the width of the top stud portion. Since an insulator is formed around the conductive stud and over its bottom undercut portion, a secure coupling between the conductive stud and the conductive layer is provided. Preferably, the conductive layer is made of copper (Cu), the conductive stud is made of gold (Au), and the insulator is alumina (Al2O3). A seed layer may be formed between the conductive stud and the conductive layer. A method of making the conductive stud using a photolithography process is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20020152393
Abstract: A method of downloading encrypted e-content to a terminal device includes receiving a request for encrypted content from a terminal device. A content server generates a private symmetric key and encrypts the e-content with the symmetric key. A key server looks up the terminal device public key in a key repository and sends the symmetric key encrypted with the public key of the terminal device to the content server. The key server generates a unique license ID and produces an entry in a license repository. The content server sends a response to the terminal device including the content encrypted with the symmetric key. Transfer tickets and challenges received from the content server are used to activate the e-content license. Additionally, trading of e-content licenses between users, activation of an e-content license transferred from a giver's terminal device to a borrower's terminal device are also supported.

  • Patent number: 5236017
Abstract: A modular distributing valve includes a valve body within which an actuating member is displaceably arranged along a longitudinal axis of the valve body. A pair of control housings lying opposite each other on the axis for actuating the actuating member are arranged in the valve body. The valve body is a tub-shaped base body which can be closed by a flat cover and is provided with ISO gas connection openings on the side opposite the cover. In order to achieve ease of assembly and eliminate the need for sealing elements around the actuating member and the switched fluid paths in the modular distributing valve, the control housings are detachably connected to the cover and are inserted with a mechanical interference fit forming a seal and fixed in place in the valve body, together with the actuating member, from the side of the valve body opposite the gas connections.
