  • Patent number: 11931266
Abstract: The biocompatible lattice structures and implants disclosed herein have an increased or optimized lucency, even when constructed from a metallic material. The lattice structures can also provide an increased or optimized lucency in a material that is not generally considered to be radiolucent. Lucency can include disparity, maximum variation in lucency properties across a structure, or dispersion, minimum variation in lucency properties across a structure. The implants and lattice structures disclosed herein may be optimized for disparity or dispersion in any desired direction. A desired direction with respect to lucency can include the anticipated x-ray viewing direction of an implant in the expected implantation orientation.

  • Patent number: 6968537
Abstract: A method, system and apparatus for automatically assigning mnemonics to text strings in a GUI are provided. First, all text strings used in the GUI that are associated with controls requiring mnemonics are stored in a table. Then using common assignment rules, each text string is automatically assigned a unique mnemonic. Text strings that are generally assigned particular mnemonics (i.e., standard mnemonics) are assigned those standard mnemonics. Each mnemonic used is registered into another table to ensure against duplication of mnemonics.

  • Publication number: 20020196866
Abstract: In a radiotelephone (30), a channel estimator (39) receives a time division multiple access (TDMA) information signal (31) including a synchronous codeword (44), formed of a first subset of seven sequential symbols (47) followed by a second subset of seven sequential symbols (48), followed by a data sequence (45) formed of multiple sequential symbols. The channel estimator (39) uses the first subset (47) to train, via initializing (51) and updating (52), the channel estimate to stabilize the channel estimate. The channel estimator (39) uses the second subset (48) to train, via initializing (53) and updating (54), the predictor to improve the future accuracy of the channel estimate. The channel estimator (39) then tracks (55) the channel estimate over the data sequence (45) by updating the channel estimate and the predictor over the data sequence (45), without substantially affecting the stability of the channel estimate or the future accuracy of the channel estimate.

  • Patent number: 5844943
Abstract: A rectangular to phase converter (201) includes a first converter circuit (201B) which limits signals to a predetermined level. A phase selector (259) selects a relative phase from the limited signals. According to one aspect of the invention, input rectangular coordinate signals are mapped to the first quadrant in a first quadrant mapping circuit (201A) before the first quadrant signals are limited and the relative phase signal is returned to the original quadrant by an original quadrant mapping circuit (260).

  • Patent number: 4046184
Abstract: A relatively simple and highly efficient safety system for retaining the tires, which are mounted on the front wheels of heavy, over-the-road vehicle such as trucks, buses and the like, in the event of gradual or sudden deflation of the tires. Such tires are locked onto rims of the two or three-piece types, mounted on disc or spoked wheels. The important and essential features of the present invention reside in the provision of a radially - extending locking lug detachably mounted on and rigidly secured to a spoke of the wheel or in the ventilating holes in disc wheels and which terminates at its outer end in a position to contact the outer flange of a two-piece rim installation, or in the case of a three-piece rim installation, to contact the outer flange and to overlie the radially-split locking ring.
