  • Patent number: 10909678
Abstract: A method and apparatus for monitoring a human or animal subject in a room using video imaging of the subject and analysis of the video image to derive an estimate of vital signs such as heart rate or breathing rate. The method includes determination of whether the subject in the images is still or moving, and whether any of the regions from which vital signs are being detected are not on the subject. The subject's movement may be manually or automatically detected, and the determination of whether regions from which vital signs are being detected are not on the subject can be input manually, by displaying the regions to the user in a visually distinguishable manner, or automatically. Vital signs measurements are only displayed if the subject is determined as being still and if there are no regions in the image which are returning vital signs signals but are not determined as being on the subject.

  • Publication number: 20200307094
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a retractable purging mechanism preferably comprised of a bracket that is connectable to a 3D printer. An actuatable shaft is secured to the bracket and the shaft engages a rocker arm, which in turn engages a collecting tray and moves the collecting tray from a first position to a second position. The collecting tray is adapted to receive a material that is discarded when, for example, a different print colour is used in 3D printing. A sweeper is also provided, the sweeper connected to the collecting tray to remove the material from the collecting tray.

  • Publication number: 20200262143
Abstract: An automatic tool changing system and method for printing functional three-dimensional (3D) object is disclosed. The system is preferably comprised of an end-effector moveable about the X, Y and Z-axis, the end-effector connecting to various functional heads by means of a dovetail joint. Each functional head is responsible for a different type of functional printing as required by the 3D object, and each functional head is positioned on a docking station for ease of access by the end-effector. The method to print a functional 3D object is comprised of printing a first portion of the object, using the various functional heads to print functional components of the object, and then finishing printing the 3D object.

  • Patent number: 10214433
Abstract: A System for brine treatment scaling control in a water treatment system is described. In the system, a concentrated brine stream influent may be treated in an electrodialysis-reversal process to produce a concentrated brine stream effluent and a lower salinity diluent water, which may be potable water effluent. The concentrated brine stream effluent may be processed in a brine treatment scaling control system that may have a mixing vessel and a membrane filter with the mixing vessel seeded with calcium sulfate. A lowered salinity brine stream effluent may be produced for return to the electrodialysis-reversal process to allow operation at greater overall recovery and an elevated concentrated brine stream may be produced.
