  • Publication number: 20150374484
Abstract: An endoscopic stent for implantation in a patient after sleeve gastrectomy or biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch or biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch comprising a stent portion, the stent portion comprising a proximal end portion, the proximal end portion defined by a length of about 50 mm to about 200 mm, an enlarged middle portion, a middle portion having an enlarged diameter relative to the proximal end portion and the distal end portion and defined by a length of about 20 mm to about 80 mm, and a distal end portion and a polymeric sleeve portion engaged to and extending distally from the distal end portion of the stent.

  • Publication number: 20150327863
Abstract: A tissue closure device includes a first clip including a first longitudinal element extending along a longitudinal axis from a proximal end to a distal end and a first pair of arms extending laterally from the first longitudinal element, the first pair of arms movable between an open configuration in which free ends of the first pair of arms are separated from one another and a closed configuration in which the free ends of the first pair of arms extend toward one another, the first pair of arms being biased toward the closed configuration, and a sliding element extending from a proximal end to a distal end and longitudinally movable relative to the first clip so that when a portion of the sliding element is received between the first pair of arms, the first pair of arms is moved from the biased closed configuration to the open configuration.

  • Publication number: 20150282790
Abstract: A tissue closure device includes a clip including arms extending from proximal ends connected to one another to distal ends. The clip is biased toward an open configuration in which the distal ends extend away from a longitudinal axis of the clip. The arms are held in a closed configuration in which the arms are moved toward the longitudinal axis via an interior surface of a working channel through which the clip is passed until the clip is moved distally past a distal end of the working channel and permitted to revert to the biased open configuration so that the distal ends are positioned about a portion of tissue surrounding a tissue opening to be closed. The device also includes a locking element movable over the arms to lock the clip in the closed configuration in which the arms are drawn toward one another to grip tissue therebetween.

  • Publication number: 20110045055
Abstract: According to one aspect of the invention, implantable or insertable medical devices are provided which can delay release of one or more therapeutic agents for a predetermined time after implantation in a subject. In various embodiments, a therapeutic agent delivery profile of this type is provided by employing a temporary barrier layer which initially permits little to no release of the therapeutic agent, but which layer permits much greater release levels after a predetermined period of time. Other aspects of the invention relate to methods of forming such devices and to methods of using such devices.
