Publication number: 20140370577Abstract: Implementations disclosed herein provide a scrubber system for the reduction and removal of acid gas from a gas stream. The scrubber system includes a dry chemical scrubber having an amount of bacteria therein. A gas stream containing an acid gas contaminant such as H2S is directed into and treated by the dry chemical scrubber; both media within the scrubber system and bacteria reduce the level of acid gas contaminant in the gas stream. In some implementations, the bacteria is carried over from a biological scrubber fluidly connected upstream of the dry chemical scrubber. The pH of the gas stream from the biological scrubber may be regulated prior to passing into the dry chemical scrubber.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 18, 2014Publication date: December 18, 2014Inventors: John Jenkins, Thomas A. Jones, Paul Bertram Trost, Frederick T. Varani, Aaron F. Primmer, Nathan A. Emsick

Publication number: 20140310571Abstract: In some examples, an erasure code can be implemented to provide for fault-tolerant storage of data. Maximally recoverable cloud codes, resilient cloud codes, and robust product codes are examples of different erasure codes that can be implemented to encode and store data. Implementing different erasure codes and different parameters within each erasure code can involve trade-offs between reliability, redundancy, and locality. In some examples, an erasure code can specify placement of the encoded data on machines that are organized into racks.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 16, 2013Publication date: October 16, 2014Applicant: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Dennis Craig Fetterly, Parikshit S. Publication number: 20140156032Abstract: A system and method for comparative analysis of sound data obtained from client equipment includes a portable sound detection device with a transducer to collect sounds from equipment, convert the collected sounds into analog signals, and generate digital data files including sound data representative of the collected sounds. The data files are stored in a web-based database and remote server-based program modules aggregate data associated with the data files with previously stored and related data across a plurality of predetermined data parameters. The program executes or enables identification of outlying data points with respect to data points from the sound data, and the comparison of sound data with baseline data determined the equipment type, the location and the aggregated data. The program then executes or enables identification of data points from the sound data representative of an equipment failure, or an imminent failure thereof.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 30, 2012Publication date: June 5, 2014Inventors: John Jenkins, Howard Sampson, Mike Stumpf

Patent number: 8703827Abstract: A foam for the treatment of varicose veins is disclosed, comprising a sclersosant solution, e.g. polidocanol, foamed with a gas mixture which includes greater than 41% of a lipid soluble gas such as xenon. The aim is to provide a foam which may be injected into a varicose vein in large quantities because the gas component is dissipated quickly after the foam has acted on the varicose vein.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 2006Date of Patent: April 22, 2014Assignee: BTG International Ltd.Inventor: William John Jenkins

Publication number: 20130058462Abstract: A real-time fluoroscopic imaging system includes a collimator and a detector which are rotationally movable independent of the support assembly, e.g., c-arm, to which they are mounted. Rotational movement of the collimator and the detector are coordinated such that the orientation of the detector with respect to the collimator does not change. The collimator may include a geared flange member to facilitate rotation, and may be a single molded piece formed of a plastic such as tungsten polymer material. The system may also include a plurality of interchangeable collimators characterized by different shapes. A display is provided to present an image to an operator, and image orientation logic displays a target anatomy in a selected orientation regardless of orientation of the target anatomy relative to the detector, and regardless of rotation of the detector.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 1, 2011Publication date: March 7, 2013Inventors: John Jenkins, Mark Guetersloh, Aleksey Danilkin, Tri Pham

Patent number: 8343397Abstract: A method for forming a device (10) that fits into a person's ear canal, that carries sound from a pipe (B) of a speaker assembly (A) into the person's ear canal, and that blocks environmental noise. A first elastomeric material (14) is molded around an elongated core (16) to form a device body (12) with an outer surface that can seal to a person's ear canal. In one method, the first elastomeric material of the body is a soft foamable material and the core is a previously-formed tube (16) of a stiffer second elastomeric material, with the body bonded to the tube by being molded around it, either in a mold cavity or by extrusion through an extrusion head. In another method, the elastomeric material of the body is a non-foam, and the core (96) is a rigid pin that is removed from the earplug body after the earplug body has at least partially solidified.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 2006Date of Patent: January 1, 2013Assignee: Sperian Hearing Protection, LLCInventors: Edwin Woo, John A. Jenkins, Jr.

Patent number: 8048439Abstract: A therapeutic foam for the treatment of, inter alia, varicose veins comprises a sclerosing solution foamed with a physiological gas such as carbon dioxide, oxygen or a mixture thereof. The foam has a nitrogen content of less than 0.8%. It may be generated using a pressurized canister system incorporating a fine mesh of micron dimensions through which the gas and sclerosing liquid are passed to make the foam. Alternatively, the foam may be generated by passing gas and solution between two syringes through a fine mesh. Techniques are described for minimizing the amount of nitrogen in a canister or syringe based product. A technique for generating and delivering foam simultaneously using a syringe based device is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 2005Date of Patent: November 1, 2011Assignee: BTG International Ltd.Inventors: David Dakin Iorwerth Wright, Anthony David Harman, Nikki Robinson, Garry Hodges, Adil Kadar, Geoffrey D.
