  • Patent number: 10432551
Abstract: Throttling for network requests may be implemented. A request processing balance may be provided for processing received network requests for a given period of time. As network requests are received, processing costs may be determined for the network requests. Processing costs may be determined on-the-fly based on processing times, resources consumed, or costs incurred to process the network requests at additional systems, in some embodiments. The request processing balance may be updated according to the determined processing costs of received network requests. Network requests may be throttled based on the current request processing balance. In some embodiments, an estimated processing cost may be determined and compared with the current request processing balance to determine whether to throttle the network requests.

  • Patent number: 10351094
Abstract: An apparatus includes a main body substantially enclosing an interior volume. The main body is elastically expandable to an inflated configuration. The apparatus further includes a vent aperture in the main body and a vent cover at least partially overlapping the vent aperture. The vent aperture and the vent cover define a passage from the interior volume to outside of the main body. In the inflated configuration of the main body and within a pressure threshold of the interior volume, the vent cover constricts the passage proportionately to a pressure increase in the interior volume of the main body.

  • Publication number: 20190097989
Abstract: A computing environment is disclosed that receives from devices requests directed toward services accessible in the environment, and that forwards communications from services in the environment to devices registered with the environment. During a registration process at the environment, devices are assigned a device identifier that is used to identify and authenticate each particular device and requests communicated from and to the device via the environment. The computing environment maintains state information for each device that has been registered with the system. As the device interacts with the system, the state information is updated to reflect the changes in the device. When requests to perform functions are received from devices, the computing environment determines for the particular device and the particular function requested what processing needs to be performed by the environment in response to the request.

  • Publication number: 20190065553
Abstract: A method for obtaining query response data by a relational database management system (RDBMS) is provided. The method receives a user input query, by a processor associated with the RDBMS, wherein the user input query comprises a query request for a set of data; formats the user input query into a second query language suitable for communication between the RDBMS and a query response interface associated with a second data storage external to the RDBMS, by the processor, to generate a reformatted user input query, wherein the RDBMS is configured to perform query operations using an n-ary tree format, and wherein the query response interface is configured to perform query operations using a binary tree format consisting of two child nodes per non-terminal node of a binary tree; and transmits the reformatted user input query to the query response interface, via a communication device communicatively coupled to the processor.

  • Publication number: 20180308600
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for preparing lead (212) for medical use. This method comprises the production of lead (212) by the decay of radium (224) in a generator comprising a solid medium to which the radium (224) is bound, followed by the extraction of the lead (212) from the generator in the form of an aqueous solution A1, characterised in that the lead (212) contained in the aqueous solution A1 is purified from the radiological and chemical impurities, also contained in said aqueous solution, by a liquid chromatography on a column. The invention also relates to an apparatus specially designed for automated implementation in a closed system of said method. It further relates to lead (212) produced by means of this method and this apparatus. Applications: manufacture of radiopharmaceuticals based on lead (212), useful in nuclear medicine for the treatment of cancers, particularly by a-radioimmunotherapy, or for medical imaging, in both humans and animals.

  • Patent number: 10095663
Abstract: A system and process are disclosed for providing users with page previews during page loading events, such that the delay experienced before the display of page content is reduced. The previews may include screenshots of the pages or of portions thereof, and may be generated periodically and cached by the system for delivery to user devices. The process of generating and delivering the previews via the Internet or some other network may be implemented partly or wholly within an intermediary system that sits logically between the user devices and content servers. The process may be used with existing browsers without the need for any browser modifications, or may be used with a “preview-aware” browser that includes special program code for providing page previews.
