  • Patent number: 10825223
Abstract: A mixed reality system including a display and camera is configured to receive video of a physical scene from the camera and construct a 3D model of the physical scene based on the video. Spatial sensing provides pose (position and orientation) updates corresponding to a physical pose of the display. First user inputs allow a user to define an input path. The input path may be displayed as a graphic path or line. The input path is mapped to a 3D path in the 3D model. Second user inputs define animation features in association with the 3D path. Animation features include an object (e.g., a character), animation commands, etc. The animation commands may be manually mapped to points on the 3D path and executed during an animation of the object guided by the 3D path.

  • Publication number: 20200336516
Abstract: A method of operating a user terminal in a telecommunications network. A telephony call is established between a first user, associated with the user terminal, and a remote user. Data communications is conducted between the user terminal and a communications server, such that the user terminal has a first connection to a communications session associated with a communications server. The telephony call is manipulated such that the telephony call forms a second connection to the communications session. Both the first connection and the second connection are maintained, for conducting communications between the first user and the remote user. The second connection may be terminated after assessment is made that the first connection is likely to provide better quality of service.

  • Publication number: 20200301662
Abstract: Methods and systems for transferring a user session between at least two electronic devices are described. The user session is conducted as an audible session via an audible interface provided by a primarily audible first electronic device. Input data is received from the audible interface, wherein the input data causes the audible interface to progress through audible interface states. A current audible interface state is mapped to a visual interface state defined for a visual interface. The mapped visual interface state is pushed to a second electronic device having a visual output device for displaying the visual interface, to enable the user session to be continued as a visual session on the second electronic device.

  • Publication number: 20200286406
Abstract: Modified animal tissues, organs, and organ systems for use in simulated surgical procedures are disclosed. The tissues, organs, and/or organ systems can be modified by enhancing their electrical conductivity, by including simulated contents mimicking what would normally be present in live animals, and by having fake blood perfusing through them. Portions of different tissues, organs, or organ systems, which can be from the same or different animals, can be adhered to provide hybrid/chimeric tissues, organs, or organ systems, and also used for simulated surgical procedures. These modifications can provide surgeons with a more realistic experience during a simulated surgical procedure.
