  • Patent number: 10761266
Abstract: A silicon-photonic integrated circuit comprising a direct-bandgap-semiconductor-based active optical device that is epitaxially grown on an indirect-bandgap SOI substrate (108) is disclosed. The structure of the active optical device includes an active region (120) having quantum dots (206) made of InGaAs that are embedded in one or more confinement layers (n-InP, p-InP), where the bandgap of the confinement layers is higher than that of the quantum dots. Further the confinement-layer material is preferably lattice matched to the quantum dot material in order to suppress associated crystalline defects within the material are located away from the center of its bandgap such that they suppress recombination-enhanced defect-reaction-driven degradation of the active optical device.

  • Patent number: 10445659
Abstract: A method, system and computer product for performing storage maintenance is described. A training set for storage volume reclamation is received. The training set includes a set of storage parameters, each set of storage parameters corresponds to a respective candidate storage volume of a set of candidate storage volumes. The training set also includes a set of user decisions made whether a respective candidate storage volume is reclaimable. The training set is used to train a machine learning system to recognize common features of reclaimable candidate storage volumes. • Patent number: 10417074
Abstract: A method for notifying a system administrator of a storage-system-related problem is disclosed. In one embodiment, such a method includes detecting a problem on a storage system comprising an array of storage drives. The method determines availability of a primary communication system used to notify a system administrator of the problem. In certain embodiments, this includes sending a message through the primary communication system and waiting for a response. In the event the primary communication system is available, the method notifies the system administrator of the problem through the primary communication system. In the event the primary communication system is not available, the method uses an SMS-based communication system to notify the system administrator of the problem. A corresponding system and computer program product are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20190274833
Abstract: Embodiments described herein include devices, systems, and methods for reducing the distance between two locations in tissue. In one embodiment, an anchor may reside within the right ventricle in engagement with the septum. A tension member may extend from that anchor through the septum and an exterior wall of the left ventricle to a second anchor disposed along a surface of the heart. Perforating the exterior wall and the septum from an epicardial approach can provide control over the reshaping of the ventricular chamber. Guiding deployment of the implant from along the epicardial access path and another access path into and through the right ventricle provides control over the movement of the anchor within the ventricle. The joined epicardial pathway and right atrial pathway allows the tension member to be advanced into the heart through the right atrium and pulled into engagement along the epicardial access path.

  • Patent number: 10282503
Abstract: Systems and methods relate to cell placement methodologies for improving length of diffusion of transistors. For example, a first transistor with a first diffusion node which is bounded by a first diffusion cut is identified in a transistor level layout. The first diffusion cut is replaced with a first floating gate, and a first filler cell with a first filler diffusion region is added to extend a length of diffusion of the first diffusion node. Increasing the length of diffusion leads to improving drive strength and performance of the first transistor.

  • Patent number: 10219904
Abstract: Medical devices, systems, and methods reduce the distance between two locations in tissue, often for treatment of congestive heart failure. In one embodiment an anchor of an implant system may reside within the right ventricle in engagement with the ventricular septum. A tension member may extend from that anchor through the septum and an exterior wall of the left ventricle to a second anchor disposed along an epicardial surface. Deployment of the anchor within the right ventricle may be performed by inserting a guidewire through the septal wall into the right ventricle. The anchor may be inserted into the right ventricle over the guidewire and through a lumen of a catheter. An anchor force may be applied within a desired range to secure the anchors about the septum and epicardial surface. The anchor force may inhibit migration of the anchors relative to the septum and epicardial surface.

Abstract: Efficiently generating selection masks for row selections within indexed address spaces is disclosed. In this regard, in one aspect, an indexed array circuit is provided, comprising a start indicator that indicates a start indexed array row of a row selection, and an end indicator that indicates an end indexed array row of the row selection. The indexed array circuit further comprises a plurality of indexed array rows ordered in a logical sequence, each comprising a row-level compare circuit. Each row-level compare circuit is configured to generate a selection mask indicator based on a first parallel comparison of subsets of bits of a logical address of the indexed array row with corresponding subsets of bits of the start indicator, and a second parallel comparison of subsets of bits of the logical address of the indexed array row with corresponding subsets of bits of the end indicator.
