  • Patent number: 9331058
Abstract: A semiconductor package includes a processor die (e.g., an SoC) and one or more memory die (e.g., DRAM) coupled to a ball grid array (BGA) substrate. The processor die and the memory die are coupled to opposite sides of the BGA substrate using terminals (e.g., solder balls). The package may be coupled to a printed circuit board (PCB) using one or more terminals positioned around the perimeter of the processor die. The PCB may include a recess with at least part of the processor die being positioned in the recess. Positioning at least part of the processor die in the recess reduces the overall height of the semiconductor package assembly. A voltage regulator may also be coupled to the BGA substrate on the same side as the processor die with at least part of the voltage regulator being positioned in the recess a few millimeters from the processor die.

  • Publication number: 20150332273
Abstract: A system, method and computer program product for granting access and/or an authorization are disclosed. For instance, a computer-implemented method may include receiving a first sequence of plurality of biometric data elements. The sequence of plurality of biometric data elements may comprise a biometric passphrase. The method may include registering the biometric passphrase to a known user and/or a transaction account. The method may include receiving a transaction request comprising a second sequence of plurality of biometric data elements. The method may include comparing the second sequence of plurality of biometric data elements to the biometric passphrase to resulting in a confidence factor of the comparison. The comparison may include comparing the sequencing of the second sequence of plurality of biometric data elements and the characteristics of each biometric data element of the second sequence of plurality of biometric data elements to the biometric passphrase.

  • Publication number: 20150122186
Abstract: Implementations described and claimed herein provide apparatuses and methods for facilitating filling and cleaning of bird feeders that are aesthetically pleasing and adaptable for attracting different types of birds. In one implementation, a bird feeder includes a proximal edge extending around a central line and defining a plane. An outer surface and an inner surface each extends distally from the plane. The inner surface is connected to the outer surface by the proximal edge. An opening is formed by the proximal edge and positioned on the plane. A hanger is disposed distal to and not intersecting the plane, and the hanger assembly has a hanging portion positioned on the central line.

  • Patent number: 8975390
Abstract: Specific DNA ligand sequences for binding various arthropod-borne pathogens including arboviruses, rickettsia and parasites are described. Each of these sequences or their linear, two- and three-dimensional linked sequences can function in varying assay and sensor formats with varying degrees of success. Linkage of the whole or partial DNA sequences (putative binding sites) can be used to enhance specificity and affinity towards complex targets, thereby improving assay selectivity and sensitivity in many instances. In addition, the DNA sequences may bind and neutralize or prevent infection from arthropod-borne viruses, rickettsia and Leishmania or other parasites.

  • Publication number: 20140349873
Abstract: Methods are described for the production and use of fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET)-based competitive displacement aptamer assay formats. The assay schemes involve FRET in which the analyte (target) is quencher (Q)-labeled and previously bound by a fluorophore (F)-labeled aptamer such that when unlabeled analyte is added to the system and excited by specific wavelengths of light, the fluorescence intensity of the system changes in proportion to the amount of unlabeled analyte added. Alternatively, the aptamer can be Q-labeled and previously bound to an F-labeled analyte so that when unlabeled analyte enters the system, the fluorescence intensity also changes in proportion to the amount of unlabeled analyte.

  • Publication number: 20140296500
Abstract: Specific DNA sequences for binding various clinically relevant analytes from the human body are described. In addition, a FRET-based quantitative method is described for normalizing analyte data by assessing urine creatinine and urea levels. Finally, a method is described for removing creatinine or urea by size-exclusion chromatography prior to a FRET-based aptamer assay to avoid the denaturing effects of these compounds.

  • Patent number: 8719912
Abstract: A method of generating a pre-authenticated link to access a private feed and providing access to the private feed using the pre-authenticated link. A request to access the private feed is received and a first user sending the request is authenticated. A token for the first user is generated when the first user is authorized to access the private feed. The token may identify the first user, the private feed and an owner of the private feed. The token may be embedded within a link and transmitted to the first user. A user is automatically authorized to access the private feed when the token is sent by the user using the link. The link automatically authenticates the first user and allows access to the private feed. The private feed may become inaccessible to the first user when the owner of the private feed revokes access of the first user.
