  • Patent number: 12139420
Abstract: A method and apparatus is disclosed for separating an amount of a perfluoroalkyl or polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS) from water which is contaminated with the substance. The method comprises the steps of: admitting an amount of the water, which includes an initial concentration of the substance, into a chamber via an inlet thereinto, and introducing a flow of gas into the chamber. The introduced gas induces the water in the chamber to flow, and produces a froth layer which is formed at, and which rises above, an interface with the said flow of water and of introduced gas in the chamber. The froth layer includes an amount of water, and also a concentrated amount of the substance in comparison compared with its initial concentration. The step of removal of at least some of the froth layer from an upper portion of the chamber occurs.

  • Publication number: 20240314367
Abstract: Lightweight mechanisms provide a way to assert provenance when live streaming media content and establish provenance upon playback. For example, a provenance claim generator generates a key pair including a live-stream private key and live-stream public key. The claim generator signs, with a long-term private key reliably associated with a sender, manifest metadata including the live-stream public key, thereby producing a manifest signature. During live streaming, the claim generator signs respective portions of media content with the live-stream private key, producing portion signatures for the respective portions. A provenance claim validator receives the manifest signature and manifest metadata. The claim validator verifies the manifest metadata using a long-term public key (reliably associated with the sender) and the manifest signature.

  • Publication number: 20240199445
Abstract: A method of separating trace amounts of amphiphilic substances from water which is contaminated with the substances, the method comprising the steps of: admitting an amount of the water, which includes an initial concentration of the substances, into a chamber via an inlet thereinto: —introducing a flow of gas into the chamber, wherein said introduced gas induces the water in the chamber to flow, and produces a froth layer which is formed at, and which rises above, an interface with the said flow of—controlling the water content of the froth layer which rises above the interface to influence the concentration of the substances therein; and—removing at least some of the froth layer from an upper portion of the chamber.

  • Patent number: 11975369
Abstract: Apparatus is disclosed for separating an amount of a substance from groundwater, comprising an elongate chamber (18) having an inlet (22) which is arranged in use to admit groundwater into the chamber near a lower first end (24). There is also a gas sparger (26) located near the first end (24) which admits gas into the chamber for inducing groundwater to flow from the first end (24) of the chamber toward a second end upper end, and for producing a froth layer (32) which rises above an interface with the groundwater including a concentrated amount of the substance. A suction hood (38) can be moved downward from the top of the chamber (18) into a position to collapse the froth layer (32) and to cause it to be removed from the well body (14). The suction hood (38) (acting as a froth depth regulation device) controls the amount of groundwater in the froth layer (32), which influences the concentration of the contaminant substance achieved in the froth layer (32).

  • Patent number: 11938314
Abstract: The present disclosure discusses a method of manufacturing an implantable neural electrode. The method includes cutting a metal layer to form a plurality of electrode sites, contact pads and metal traces connecting the electrode sites to the contact pads. A first silicone layer including a mesh is formed and coupled to the metal layer. A second silicone layer is formed and laminated to the first silicone layer coupled with the metal layer. Holes are formed in the first or second silicone layer exposing the contact pads and electrode sites. Wires are welded to the exposed contact pads and a third layer of silicone is overmolded over the contact pads and wires.

  • Patent number: 11869787
Abstract: A substrate container includes a container portion having an open side or bottom, and a door to sealingly close the open side or bottom, one of the door and the container portion defining access structure. The substrate container additionally includes a check-valve assembly, the check-valve assembly being retained with respect to the access structure to provide fluid communication with an interior of the substrate container. The check-valve assembly includes a grommet, the grommet being formed of an elastomeric material. A valve seat is disposed within the grommet, the valve seat being integrally formed with the grommet according to one aspect, and being formed of a separate piece according to another aspect. An elastomeric valve member, specifically an elastomeric umbrella valve member according to one aspect, is disposed within the grommet and held to engage the valve seat, thereby restricting fluid flow through the check-valve assembly with respect to the interior of the substrate container.

  • Publication number: 20230421566
Abstract: A privilege access management (PAM) appliance can receive an access request from an accessor device to access an endpoint device. The PAM appliance can establish a session via a secure connection between the accessor device and the endpoint device. The PAM appliance can transmit a request for credential information available for the accessor device to access the endpoint device from a credential management device. The credential management device can receive the request for credential information available for the accessor device to access the endpoint device. The credential management device can extract a set of credentials that are available for the accessor device from a plurality of credentials. The credential management device can provide at least one of the set of credentials to the endpoint device for the accessor device for the session.
