  • Publication number: 20070039690
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming an absorbent core assembly containing a batt of particulate material which may be used in an absorbent article. The apparatus may include a laydown drum having a plurality of vacuum zones, a plurality of fence zones, and a plurality of blow-off zones. The vacuum zones may be substantially permeable to permit air to pass through and into the laydown drum. The fence zones may be substantially impermeable to inhibit air from passing through. The blow-off zones may be substantially permeable to permit air to pass out of and through said laydown drum. The apparatus may also include a deposition chute for depositing particulate material on a web of material in close proximity to the laydown drum. • Publication number: 20070038816
Abstract: A first appliance for ensuring data integrity in network memory is disclosed. The first appliance includes a processor and a communications interface that communicates over a communication network with a second appliance of the network memory. The processor determines whether reconciliation between a first peer state information in the first appliance and a second peer state information in the second appliance is needed. The first peer state information and the second peer state information track the status of data in the network memory. The processor determines an action to reconcile the first peer state information with the second peer state information based on a positive determination that the reconciliation is needed. The processor then performs the action to reconcile the first peer state information with the second peer state information.

Abstract: The present teachings are generally directed to methods for normalizing at least one species of small nucleic acid that is present in a population of small nucleic acid species, wherein the relative concentration of at least one small nucleic acid species is substantially greater than the relative concentration of at least one other small nucleic acid species in the population. At least one small nucleic acid species is normalized using a multiplicity of primers comprising degenerate sequences. In some embodiments, a small nucleic acid species is identified by inserting at least part of an extension product from a normalized population into a vector and subsequently sequencing the insert. • Publication number: 20060194496
Abstract: A nonwoven composite structure having a plurality of layers of nonwoven fiber batting bonded in laminating relation to one another by a localized adhesive disposed between the layers. The adhesive between the layers of fiber batting preferably extends across the interface between the adjacent layers so as to at least partially penetrate each of the layers thereby enhancing the bond strength between the layers. The bond strength between the layers and the uniformity of the resultant bonded structure may be further enhanced by forcibly extending fibers from at least one layer of batting through the material forming the adhesive such as by needling prior to activation of the adhesive such that a portion of the fibers forming the layers of batting extends across the adhesive between the bonded layers.

  • Publication number: 20060108258
Abstract: A wafer container providing improved wafer restraint during physical shock events. In embodiments of the invention, a secondary wafer restraint structure defining a plurality of notches is interposed between opposing wafer restraint members on the door of the container. The notches may be defined by one or more converging edges or surfaces meeting at a junction. The junctions are positioned so as to align with the wafer receiving portions of each opposing pair of wafer restraint member so that when the door is fully sealingly engaged with the enclosure of the container, the edge of the wafer is contacting the junction. In this position, any vertical movement of the wafer due to shock imparted to the container causes the wafer to contact the converging surfaces or edges, thereby limiting such movement.

  • Publication number: 20060092559
Abstract: An embodiment of the invention clamp assembly for a disk which includes a cavity for trapping the excess lubricant which migrates from the load bearing threads of the screws that hold the assembly in place. In a preferred embodiment a flexible structure, called a screw lubricant trap, is included between a clamp and hub. A recess for the screw lubricant trap is formed in one or both of the mating surfaces of the clamp and/or the hub. The screws are arranged in the interior of the screw lubricant trap, so that when the hub is spinning, the excess lubricant is forced into the cavity to kept the excess lubricant from migrating onto the disk. The screw lubricant trap is preferably made to be non-load bearing to avoid affecting the load on the screw. Alternatively, a groove can be machined in the clamp to serve as the lubricant trap.
