  • Patent number: 11413514
Abstract: Systems and methods relating to evaluating the performance of a person playing basketball are described. The systems and methods can be used to provide an evaluation sequence that can determine and evaluate the performance level of a person at one or more basketball skills. The evaluation sequence for the person can include a first sequence of actions that are the same each person being evaluated for a particular skill and a second sequence of actions that is based on the results of the first sequence and may be different for each person. Once the first and second sequences have been completed by the person, the system can determine a performance level for the person for the skills being evaluated.

  • Patent number: 11372819
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to traversing a file system to determine file system objects to copy to an object store. In response to visiting a document object in the file system, performing further actions, including: determining a hierarchical file path of the document object that corresponds to a location in the file system based on the file system objects that are ancestor file system objects of the document object; generating an object key for the document object that encodes the hierarchical file path such that each portion of the object key corresponds to an ancestor file system object; copying the document object and the object key to the object store such that the document object may be stored in the object store as an object store object and such that the object store object may be indexed using an unordered index based on the object key; or the like.

  • Publication number: 20220186441
Abstract: Systems and methods as disclosed herein automatically provide real-time dosing corrections for an industrial process wherein enzyme blends are applied to natural fibers for pulp/ paper production. An initial enzyme blend (e.g., enzymes and supporting formulation components, as relevant) and respective dose rates are selected to be applied based on expected fiber surface substrate characterization, expected fiber quality characterization, the physical conditions of the system being treated, respective characteristics of the initially selected enzyme blend components, etc. Upon application of the initial enzyme blend, online sensors provide real-time feedback data corresponding to measured actual values for the fiber surface substrate characterization and fiber quality characterization. A replacement enzyme blend (enzymes and supporting formulation components) and respective dose rates thereof is dynamically selected based on the feedback data.

  • Publication number: 20220122269
Abstract: Methods and apparatus relating to predicting outcome in a sporting environment are described. The methods and apparatus are used to relate trajectory performance of an object to body motions and body orientation associated with a generating the trajectory of the object. When equipment is utilized to generate the trajectory of an object, than the effects of equipment motions and equipment orientation can be also related to trajectory performance. The method and apparatus can be used to predict body motions and body orientations that increase the likelihood of achieving a desired outcome including specifying optimum motions and orientations for a particular individual. The method and apparatus may be used in training, coaching and broadcasting environments.

  • Patent number: 11294604
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to managing data in a file system that includes a plurality of storage nodes and a plurality of storage volumes such that each storage node may be a compute instance provided by a cloud computing environment (CCE) and each storage volume may be based on blobs provided by the CCE. Write requests that include write data may be provided. A lowest range of addresses in the storage volume may be determined for storing the write data. Buckets may be determined based on the range of addresses and the write data assigned to the buckets. If portions of the buckets remain unassigned, other data may be provided from a cache volume or the blobs. The write data and the other data may be written to the portion of the blobs.

  • Publication number: 20220063229
Abstract: A system and method is provided for proactive process intervention in manufacturing creped products via a chemical feed stage and a Yankee dryer stage. The method includes generating signals from a plurality of online sensors, corresponding to directly measured variables for respective process components such as, e.g., pH, conductivity, and Yankee blade vibration. Models are developed including retrievable information relating combinations of certain directly measured variables to respective quality characteristics of the creped product. The method further includes indirectly determining quality characteristics (e.g., softness, bulk) for the creped product, substantially in real time, based on, e.g., signals corresponding to directly measured variables, and optionally a predicted natural coating potential.

  • Publication number: 20210333172
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for contextual data analysis and proactive intervention in industrial plant processes. Each of multiple data streams in an industrial plant are mapped to a common hierarchical data structure, wherein the data streams correspond to respective values or states associated with unit operations, assets, and process streams in the plant. The mapped data streams define hierarchical process relationships between subsets of the unit operations, assets, and process streams. Real-time data is collected to populate at least one level of the hierarchical data structure for certain data streams, wherein future outcomes are predicted for downstream operations based on the collected real-time data for at least one data stream, and at least one other data stream having a defined hierarchical process relationship therewith.

  • Publication number: 20210276473
Abstract: An extendable truck bed ramp is housed adjacent the bed of the truck and tailgate when the tailgate is lowered and open. The ramp deploys using a track system inside the bed of the truck and the tailgate respectively. The ramp contains side rails for easy access with items such as hand trucks, ATVs (All Terrain Vehicles), and other wheeled items. The method for joining a truck bed with a loading surface includes attaching at least two parallel tracks to a floor of a truck bed and to a floor side of a tailgate to form continuous tracks based on a foldout of the tailgate, permanently embedding into the at least two parallel tracks each, at least two complementary sliders and moving the truck ramp with folding side rails into a joining position between the truck bed and the loading surface via the at least four sliders attached there beneath.
