  • Patent number: 6706040
Abstract: An invasive therapeutic probe assembly and related methods for application of RF energy to a volume of body tissue are provided. The probe assembly includes an RF source configured to provide an RF energy having selected characteristics, a probe having a probe shaft and an antenna positioned therein, and a feed line for providing conductivity from the RF source to the antenna probe. The probe assembly is adapted to generate a zone of therapeutic effectiveness having a selected geometry and volume. The related method includes positioning the probe in a selected location with reference to a target tissue, initiating an electromagnetic field from the antenna having a selected geometry, and producing a zone of therapeutic effectiveness having a selected geometry and volume. The producing step preferably includes, taking periodic temperature measurements from sensors positioned at a selected location, and manipulating the selected characteristics of the RF energy to include duration and/or power level.

  • Publication number: 20030080012
Abstract: The invention features a container that includes an opening for inserting and removing a letter, a first opening for opening and examining the letter, and a window for visually checking the letter against a contrasting color of an interior surface of the container. The container which may have a closed configuration is used for opening and detecting harmful, suspicious foreign substances such as white powdery particles included in letters of postal mail systems.

  • Publication number: 20020007803
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and method for controlling boiling condition of hot H3PO4 solution by adjusting the vapor extracting rate thereof, wherein an acid tank filled with hot H3PO4 solution to a level surface is located in a treatment room and a temperature thermocouple is arranged above the level surface of the hot H3PO4 solution to monitor the vapor temperature near the level surface of the H3PO4 solution. The vapor temperature is used to adjust the extracting rate of the treatment room by control of a damper connected to an outlet of the treatment room. According to the present invention, the treatment apparatus and method can control the boiling condition of the hot H3PO4 solution thereof by properly adjusting the extracting rate, and therefore avoid defects and loss of control in manufacturing processes.

  • Publication number: 20010042726
Abstract: An improvement of a cassette carrier is provided to improve wafer cleaning processes. The carrier includes a support and two opposed suspensions positioned at both sides of the support and each provided with a fixing mechanism for suspending edges of cassettes. According to the present invention, the structure of the carrier for carrying the cassettes is simplified to reduce amount of chemicals adhered to and remained on the surface of the carrier during wafer cleaning, thereby shortening wafer cleaning time and enhancing wafer cleaning efficiency.

  • Patent number: 6245148
Abstract: The present invention relates to a SOG (Spin-On-Glass) dispensing system and its controlling sequences and, more particularly, to a SOG dispensing system allowing for continuous production and its controlling sequences According to the present invention, a buffer tank, whose wall is set a plurality of level sensors at different level heights, is connected between a source tank with a SOG bottle inside and a coating unit of prior art and then SOG is supplied for a time interval from the source tank into the buffer tank by control signals from these level sensors. Besides, the buffer tank is surrounded with a cooling unit to provide a low temperature enviroment allowing for prolonging life time of SOG and preventing organic solvent inside SOG from evaporating and then crystallizing to form contamination particles at wall of the SOG dispensing system.

  • Patent number: 6209029
Abstract: The present invention provides a three tier environment with improved data access capabilities. A browser can obtain data from a data source by interacting with that data source through an application server. The application server consists of a web server portion and a data server portion. Instead of CGI scripts interacting with a data source through a CGI interface, the present invention uses applets and objects to interact directly with a data source. A web page requested by a browser includes a “presentation” which is applet code that accesses data from a data source. When the application server receives a request for a page that is to contain data from a data source, the application server identifies a page that includes a reference to a presentation. The non-data portion of the page emits itself to the browser while at the same time the presentation undertakes the data retrieval. The browser receives the page, which contains an applet tag. The applet class is sent to the browser.
