  • Publication number: 20160091958
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to a method and apparatus for a zero voltage processor sleep state. A processor may include a dedicated cache memory. A voltage regulator may be coupled to the processor to provide an operating voltage to the processor. During a transition to a zero voltage power management state for the processor, the operational voltage applied to the processor by the voltage regulator may be reduced to approximately zero and the state variables associated with the processor may be saved to the dedicated cache memory.

  • Publication number: 20150355732
Abstract: A stylus for a capacitive touch screen includes an inverting charge integrator circuit is connected to a conductive tip for providing an output signal proportional to a charge induced at the conductive tip. An inverting amplifier generates an amplified signal proportional to the signal output from the inverting charge integrator. A conductive contact provides electrical or capacitive coupling between the amplified signal and an exterior of the stylus which may provide electrical or capacitive coupling with a person holding the stylus. In other embodiments, the order of the inverting charge integrator and the inverting amplifier may be reversed. A power supply circuit powers the inverting charge integrator and the inverting amplifier. Shielding may be implemented to isolate the stylus circuitry and prevent oscillation. The provided circuitry may enable a ball point or other fine point stylus tip configurations.

  • Patent number: 9154837
Abstract: This document describes techniques and apparatuses enabling a user interface for presenting a media reaction. The techniques receive media reactions of a person to a media program, such as the person laughing at one point of a comedy show, then smiling at another point, and then departing at a third point. The techniques may present these and other media reactions in a user interface through which a user may interact.

  • Publication number: 20150277407
Abstract: A system and method for determining a location of an equipment controller within a building including a building automation system are disclosed. The method includes receiving, by a main controller of the building automation system, a request from a mobile device to locate an equipment controller. The main controller monitors one or more sensors that are in communication with the main controller for a user-initiated communication-modifying event in response to receiving the request from the mobile device. The main controller determines a hardware address of the equipment controller in response to receiving a user-initiated communication-modifying event from one of the equipment controller and of the one or more sensors.

  • Patent number: 9083072
Abstract: An antenna mount for adjusting the azimuth, elevation, and/or skew alignments of an antenna. The mount has a basic gearbox drive including a worm gear and worm wheel with interchangeable arcuate members that can be inserted in the basic drive design to customize it for azimuth, elevation, and/or skew adjustments. The arcuate member for azimuth adjustments permits the gearbox drive to rotate the attached antenna more than 360 degrees and provides two hard stop positions about 400 degrees from each other for reference points for the search routine and to prevent undue twisting of any attached, exterior wiring. Replacing the azimuth arcuate member with a modified or second arcuate member reduces the rotational movement (e.g., to 20 degrees) making the gearbox drive more suitable for elevation adjustments. Similarly, a third gearbox drive can be provided with a third arcuate member with more of a middle range of movement (e.g., 90-180 degrees) suitable for skew adjustments of the antenna.

  • Patent number: 8976857
Abstract: Various embodiments are disclosed herein that relate to quality-based video encoding. For example, one disclosed embodiment provides a video compression system configured to compress a video item at a constant average quality to form compressed video data. Further, the system is configured to compare a bit rate of each portion of a plurality of portions of the compressed video data to a threshold bit rate, and if a bit rate of a selected portion of the compressed video data meets or exceeds the threshold bit rate, then adjust a compression process variable while compressing a segment of the video item corresponding to the selected portion of the compressed video data to reduce the bit rate of the portion of the compressed video data.

  • Publication number: 20140158854
Abstract: A skid for transporting, deploying and storing a portable antenna has an antenna mounting frame providing a base for the antenna. A skid frame with an enclosure contains the antenna mounting frame and houses the antenna in the stowed position The enclosure also has a top opening to allow the antenna to be deployed. A lid covers the opening when the antenna is in the stowed position, and can be removed from the opening to allow the antenna to be deployed. The skid frame supports the antenna mounting frame and antenna, and also enables the entire skid assembly to lifted and transported. Shock isolation members between the skid frame and antenna mounting frame isolate the antenna from external shocks. The skid can also be equipped with a cable reel for holding cables for external connections to the antenna that is mounted inside a hinged gate attached to the skid frame.
