  • Patent number: 7626560
Abstract: A folding feed for a mobile satellite system having a reflector antenna, a feed, and a feed arm. The feed arm carries the feed at its distal end. A pivot is provided between the distal end and the feed. A feed stop block, connected at the distal end, has first and second surfaces. When the mobile satellite system stows the antenna, the feed pivots to abut the first surface against the feed to hold the feed at a first set angle. When said mobile satellite system deploys the antenna, the feed pivots to abut the second surface against the feed to hold the feed at the second set angle. A spring connected between the feed arm and feed holds the second surface against the feed. The first angle is greater than the second angle to provide a low profile to the stowed antenna.

  • Publication number: 20090128649
Abstract: A Personal Computer (PC) adjusts a colour of an image received from a digital camera to produce an estimated reflectance spectrum and/or to convert the colour to a new colour space. First, an input compensation transform is generated, e.g. based on a Macbeth colour chart in the image, to compensate for the sensitivity of the camera used to generate the image to different wavelengths of light and the illumination spectrum incident on an object of interest to which the image relates. In order to estimate the reflectance spectrum, a reflectance spectrum estimation transform is then generated by the PC. In order to convert the colour of the image to the new colour space, a colour space conversion transform is generated by the PC. Both the reflectance spectrum estimation transform and the colour space conversion transform are based on the input compensation transform and reference reflectance spectra stored in a reference reflectance spectra database.

  • Patent number: 7518569
Abstract: A stabilizing mechanism and method for a deployed reflector antenna in a mobile satellite system. The stabilizing mechanism has a pair of stabilizing devices with a first end of each stabilizing device connected on a rear support of the reflector antenna. The first ends are positioned on opposite sides of the rear support. A second end of each stabilizing device is connected to a tilt mechanism in the mobile satellite system. The pair of stabilizing devices forms a support angle about the centerline of the reflector antenna and with the tilt mechanism. The pair of stabilizer devices pushes against the opposite sides with a pre-load force when the reflector antenna is deployed to minimize deflection of the reflector antenna due to environmental forces.

  • Publication number: 20070157036
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to a method and apparatus for a zero voltage processor sleep state. A processor may include a dedicated cache memory. A voltage regulator may be coupled to the processor to provide an operating voltage to the processor. During a transition to a zero voltage power management state for the processor, the operational voltage applied to the processor by the voltage regulator may be reduced to approximately zero and the state variables associated with the processor may be saved to the dedicated cache memory.

  • Publication number: 20070137769
Abstract: An integrated method of making a printed film-nonwoven laminate, wherein the layers of the laminate are formed, printed and laminated within the same process. The method includes forming a nonwoven web, corona treating the nonwoven web, applying a print to a surface of the nonwoven web and immediately feeding the nonwoven web into a laminator where film is combined with or laminated to the nonwoven web. The film may also be formed and/or printed during the process prior to being fed into the laminator. The invention further includes apparatus for carrying out the integrated method.

  • Patent number: 7046522
Abstract: The design methods described enable three-dimensional integrated circuit systems in which all of the dies, in a vertically bonded stack of dies, are identical. Only one mask set and wafer type is required since a single circuit design is produced for one die in the stack and reused for all the dies with little or no modification. The system scales directly as the level of stacking is increased while incurring no extra design effort, beyond that required for the initial design.

  • Patent number: 6983448
Abstract: A family of Java interfaces defines methods to provide common information about a property, such as data type and editing capabilities. The interfaces identify the methods used to get generic metadata. Implementers may extend these classes, as needed, to provide the metadata for their specific properties. The common metadata description interface of the present invention allows multiple metadata sources to be used interchangeably within the same software product without the software code being specifically written for each metadata source.

  • Publication number: 20050112979
Abstract: An in-line formed web or other material (such as foams) having major surfaces in the X-Y plane and a depth in the Z direction is suitable for use as an integral fluid distribution and fluid retention material in a disposable absorbent article. The web or material contains multiple zones of material which may have both thermoplastic fibers/materials and absorbent material components. The multiple zones can have different compositions of thermoplastic fibers/materials and absorbent material as applied in-line by various arrangements of thermoplastic melt dies and absorbent fiber/material dispensers. By arranging at least two of the multiple zones in an opposing relation overlaid in the Z-axis direction of the web/material, a gradient can be formed in the Z-direction of the web/material.

  • Patent number: 6806737
Abstract: A circuit and method for accelerating bus line communication in an integrated circuit is disclosed. High speed transmission of signals along a bus line is achieved by driving a series of bus line segments with their own bi-directional bus amplification circuits. Because each bus line segment has less capacitive loading than longer non-segmented bus lines, voltage reversal, or data inversion of a pair of complementary lines of a bus line segment is accomplished at high speed. Each bi-directional bus amplification circuit includes a precharge circuit for precharging each complementary pair of lines to known logic levels, and a drive circuit for changing the logic level of each line.

  • Patent number: 6803782
Abstract: A column redundancy architecture for arrayed parallel processor devices is disclosed. In particular, daisy chained communication between processing elements is preserved after defective memory columns and their associated processing elements are disabled, by setting a bypass circuit within the processing element to be disabled. An address remapping circuit ensures that spare memory columns and associated processing elements replacing the defective memory columns and processing elements can be addressed in a linear column order. The column redundancy architecture is flexible as it permits replacement of arbitrary numbers of series adjacent processing elements as well as non adjacent processing elements with a minimal impact on device performance.
