  • Publication number: 20140118095
Abstract: The present invention provides a multi-mode cavity filter in which signals are coupled to or from a resonator body, using a coupling path with first and second portions arranged such that current flows in opposite directions and the couplings due to the magnetic fields generated partially cancel one another. In this way, the degree of coupling to any particular mode of the filter can be closely controlled by varying the length and/or orientation of the portions with respect to each other.

  • Publication number: 20140097913
Abstract: The present invention relates to a multi-mode filter comprising a carrier on which is mounted a dielectric resonator having a covering of an electrically conductive material in which there is provided an aperture and a coupling structure for coupling input signals to the dielectric resonator or for extracting filtered output signals from the dielectric resonator. The carrier is provided with an enclosing formation of electrically conductive material, which enclosing formation is electrically coupled to the electrically conductive covering of the dielectric resonator, such that the covering and the enclosing formation together form an electrically conductive enclosure for the dielectric resonator. The enclosure formed from the covering of the dielectric resonator and the enclosing formation increases the isolation of the filter and reduces leakage. The filter of the present invention is particularly suitable for use in cascaded resonator filter arrangements, and in duplex/diplex filters.

  • Patent number: 8573276
Abstract: The invention relates to a label, and method and apparatus for forming and dispensing the same. The label is provided as part of a roll of labels. The labels are attached to each other and/or extraneous label or substrate material via a discontinuous line with bridge portions. The labels have a layer of adhesive and a release layer applied thereto and ink printed thereon. In one embodiment the adhesive is applied over the release layer of material prior to forming the roll and when the labels are taken from the roll the adhesive layer leaves the release layer and contacts with the face of the label which overlies the same in the roll.

  • Publication number: 20130276904
Abstract: A sample fluid stream in a probe apparatus may be redirected in a redirection area, and a flowing gas sheet may be directed into the redirection area. Additionally, a conduit downstream of a probe nozzle may define a reverse taper (where the conduit is wider downstream), a lip for collecting droplets that have collected on conduit walls, and/or re-entraining gas directed at collected droplets. Focusing gas may focus the sample fluid stream away from the walls of the conduit. Such focusing gas may be at different temperatures for different sections of the conduit. For example, the focusing gas may be a lower temperature near the probe inlet, and may be at a higher temperature to act as drying gas farther downstream.

  • Patent number: 8409067
Abstract: A leaflet is produced from a pre-printed sheet of material by folding the sheet with at least one crease-line along the line of advancement of the sheet but preferably with two or more such crease-lines so that the sheet is fan-folded. The crease-lines are squeezed by a roller nip and then the sheet is fed into a diametral slot in a mandrel of elliptical cross-section. The leading edge of the sheet is gripped within the slot and then the mandrel is rotated to wind the sheet around the outer surface thereof. The wound sheet is then removed from the mandrel and is squeezed through a roller nip so as to form a substantially flat folded leaflet. The leaflet may be converted to a booklet by joining together the overlying sheets along one folded edge of the compressed leaflet and slitting open the other folded edge of the compressed leaflet.
