  • Publication number: 20110053254
Abstract: The invention relates to materials and methods for modifying the binding of antibodies, and more particularly to antibodies that are obtainable by inserting an amino acid sequence capable of binding to a target into a complementarity determining region of a parent antibody so that the antibody thus obtained is capable of binding to the target. The invention further relates to the uses of the antibodies for therapy, diagnosis or imaging, and to methods of producing the antibodies.

  • Patent number: 6640846
Abstract: An automatic fueling system includes a pump having a telescoping arm capable of placement in three-dimensional space, a flexibly mounted nozzle on the end of the arm and a docking cone to mate with the fuel port on a vehicle. A camera provides a view of the side of the vehicle on a monitor with guides visible to the operator of the vehicle to assist in locating the vehicle within range of the pump. A light and a camera located adjacent to the nozzle are used to recognize retro-reflective light from an annular target about the intake port. Multiple approximations of the distance and location of the intake port are made with the nozzle moving closer to mating with the intake port. A data link is provided through the mated nozzle with a keypad accessible by the vehicle operator.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4743917
Abstract: A portable roll-out antenna system which forms a compact, transportable assembly when not being used. The roll-out antenna system is provided with flexible antenna elements which are individually wound onto reels for storage and transportation, and rolled out for use as an efficient antenna system. Each pair of antenna elements is connected to a balun for proper connection to unbalanced connecting cables. The baluns are housed in an end-cap assembly upon which are mounted the antenna element reels when the antenna system is not being used. A power splitter allows more than one connecting cable to be electrically coupled to a remote transmitter/receiver by way of a transmission line. The power splitter is housed in a center reel assembly which is provided with a component to lockably receive part of the end-cap assembly upon which is mounted the antenna-element reels, thus holding the antenna-element reels together and forming a compact, transportable assembly.
