  • Publication number: 20030170082
Abstract: A drill plate of the present invention includes a concave body and a vacuum manifold. The concave body defines a plurality of drill ports which act as a drill guides to ensure accurate drill hole placement. The concave body collects, and the vacuum manifold removes, debris from the drilling process. Individual magnetic seals cover each of the drill ports to prevent the escape of debris from the concavity. The drill plate further includes a plurality of tooling pins that allow the drill plate to be affixed to the structure being drilled to improve the accuracy of hole placement and for “hands free” operation. The tooling pins allow the drill plate to be used with composite structures that are held together by hard tooling, such as aluminum parts.

  • Publication number: 20020086617
Abstract: A rotary union is provided for chemical/mechanical polishing of silicon wafers, especially silicon wafers containing chemically sensitive integrated circuit structures. A rotary union is provided with a union rotor and union stator, coupled at the free end of a support spindle carrying a CMP polishing table. In the preferred embodiment the rotary union is joined to a coolant union forming the lower end of the support spindle. A passageway through the union rotor extends past the bottom end of the coolant union rotating part to avoid contact of fluid transmitted through the passageway formed in the union rotor, with the rotating part of the coolant union.

  • Patent number: 5480416
Abstract: A pulse generator for a cardiac pacemaker is adapted to be implanted beneath the skin and adjacent the musculus with either of its two sides facing the musculus and its other side facing outwardly of the patient's body, at the option of the implanting surgeon, according to the desired orientation of the receptacle of the header for connection of an electrode lead to the pulse generator, and at the same time avoiding the presence of spurious signals attributable to flexation of the adjacent musculus and twitching attributable to stimulation of the adjacent musculus during operation of the pulse generator when implanted. To that end, the entire surface of the case is coated with an electrically insulative, biocompatible film except along a portion of the edge of the case between its two major sides which is to serve as an anodal contact surface for stimulating and sensing cardiac activity of the patient.

  • Patent number: 5348368
Abstract: A shield is disclosed which attaches to a high chair tray for the purpose of preventing the high chair occupant from displacing food over the front and sides of the high chair tray. The shield has a wall which partially encompasses the eating surface of the high chair tray, around the edges of the tray. The wall serves to block disposal of food over the front and sides of the tray. The shield also has fasteners which allow the wall to be removably coupled to the high chair tray and which prevents the shield from being easily dislodged from the tray.
