  • Publication number: 20250082530
Abstract: A time-based wireless pairing operation between a medical device, such as a patient bed, and a wall module in a patient room is initiated in response to a power plug of the medical device being plugged into a power receptacle carried by the wall module. Times determined by timers of the medical device and the wall module are compared by the wall module or by the medical device so that wireless pairing occurs only with the medical device that was plugged into the wall module. Different types of plug detectors used in the wall module to detect connection of the power plug include optical detectors, mechanical switches, and current sensors.

  • Patent number: 12204356
Abstract: Methods and systems for operating a voltage regulator are described. An apparatus may receive a feedback signal from a power stage. The feedback signal may be one of a sensed signal measured from an output of the power stage and a calibration signal representing a fixed voltage. The apparatus may convert the feedback signal into a correction signal. The apparatus may further adjust a synthetic current using the correction signal, the synthetic current being associated with the power stage.

  • Patent number: 10749168
Abstract: An electrochemical cell or battery uses iron gall ink as an electrolyte. In some examples, mold, bacteria, or yeast are allowed to grow on the electrolyte. The ink is made by combining tannic or gallic acid from a material such as dehydrated tea with a metal or transition metal sulfate, such as iron sulfate, potassium sulfate, or manganese sulfate. Urea, a metal or transition metal salt, and glycerin can also be added to the electrolyte to assist in the ion-producing reaction. One example includes electrodes made from iron and graphite, and an electrolyte of iron-gall or iron-tannate ink. Another example uses a manganese based ink. Aluminum, potassium, or sodium tannate ink, urea, and graphite can be used to make a metal-air cell, in which the cell is open to the air. The ink can be used as a charge transport in a redox-flow electrochemical cell. Yet another example utilizes Bauxite residue, a waste product of aluminum manufacture.

  • Publication number: 20140172720
Abstract: Method and systems for facilitating digital commerce are provided. Systems include a client and server which are incorporated into an online purchasing system to perform the purchase and online delivery of electronic content. The client includes a secured copy of the merchandise and components used to license and purchase the merchandise and to unsecure and process the licensed merchandise. The client communicates with the server to download the components onto a customer's computer system and to license and purchase a requested item of merchandise. The server supplies merchandise-specific components and licenses the requested item of merchandise by generating an electronic certificate. The electronic certificate contains license parameters that are specific to the requested merchandise and an indicated purchasing option. Once an electronic license certificate is received, the merchandise is made available to the customer for use in accordance with the licensing parameters.

  • Patent number: 8494180
Abstract: Systems and methods provided herein decrease an idle channel noise floor and reduce power during an idle channel input for low power audio devices that include a digital pulse width modulation (PWM) amplifier having a noise shaper. An audio data signal is monitored for an idle channel condition. The noise shaper performs quantization of the audio data signal and uses noise shaper filter coefficients to shape noise resulting from the quantization. Predetermined values for the noise shaper filter coefficients are used to shape the noise resulting from quantization while the idle channel condition is not being detected. The values of the noise shaper filter coefficients are reduced so that the values move toward zeros, and the reduced values of the noise shaper filter coefficients are used to attenuate noise resulting from quantization, while the idle channel condition is being detected.
