  • Patent number: 4395799
Abstract: The disclosed garment hanger has an elongated, molded plastic body with clamps at each end. Each clamp has a pair of spaced legs interconnected by an integral web between its ends which holds the legs substantially spaced from each other. The web has a relatively thin central section which functions as a hinge. The legs are biased into clamping position by a spring which is suspended in a pocket between the handle portions of the clamps. The lower end of the spring has a substantially circular head which becomes distorted in shape and presses against the bottom of the handle portions of the legs and against the web as the clamp is opening for effecting a change in the operating characteristic of the clamp.

  • Patent number: 4198773
Abstract: A tally system of article identification to be mounted on an article support such as a garment hanger is disclosed. In one form, tubular tallies are initially manufactured as an extruded tube and then severed into individual units of suitable length. In another form, they are individually manufactured. The article support may be provided with an upstanding boss or other projection over which the tallies are seated. The tallies and boss or other projection may be equipped with means for circumferentially indexing the tally to assure proper display. The tallies, as used, preferably have suitable information indicia applied to their exterior surface.

  • Patent number: 4192441
Abstract: An article clamping and supporting device suitable for displaying merchandise or for use with and incorporation into a garment hanger is disclosed. The device has inner and outer jaws designed to be joined by integral hinges and folded together to form a "clothes-pin" type of garment hanger. The jaws of the device are formed by inner and outer panels integrally joined by hinges which permit the outer panels to be folded to seat against the inner panels and detachably locked thereto. A spring biases the clamp into closed position. The spring seats over the folded inner panels and between these and the outer panels and is, thus, totally concealed from both front and back and largely concealed from the sides.

  • Patent number: 4177908
Abstract: A molded pants hanger includes a lower bar and an upper bar positioned above and spaced from the lower bar in the same vertical plane. Adjacent ends of the upper and lower bars are detachably and hingedly interconnected with the upper bar movable from an open position to closed position generally parallel with the lower bar. A support hook is joined to the center of the lower bar. A side latch including an L-shaped member integral with the free end of the lower bar cooperates with a recess formed in the free end of the upper bar to latch the upper bar to the lower bar.

  • Patent number: 4101059
Abstract: A tally having suitable information imprinted thereon is formed from flexible, sheet material and defines a locking detent notch opening through a transverse edge thereof. Extending outwardly from the transverse edge opposite the locking detent notch is an indexing or stop tab. A hanger includes a tally attaching means having a recess defined by opposed walls or flanges having grooves formed therein. One of the grooves includes an inwardly directed detent adapted to snap fit into the notch of the tally. The other groove is of stepped configuration in cross section and includes a stop against which the tab abuts when the tally is inserted between the grooves.

  • Patent number: 4073457
Abstract: A hanger for garments or other articles such as shoes having loops or web-like portions from which said articles may be suspended, includes a body member equipped with a hook, the body member being generally of U-shaped configuration when folded for use and having a central web and a pair of wings. Each of the wings defines a slot opening through one end thereof and extending generally horizontally when the hanger is suspended from its hook for engaging the loops or a web-like portion of an article. The upstanding hook is formed integral with the body member to permit suspension of the hanger from a support rod or the like.

  • Patent number: 4034903
Abstract: A suspended article display hanger arrangement includes an elongated, rigid bar upon which are slidably mounted a plurality of article engaging clamps. In the preferred embodiment, the clamps are divided into two sets, with one set permitting suspension of articles from the front surface of the bar and the other set permitting suspension of articles from the rear surface of the bar. The slidable mounting arrangement for the clamps is such that clamps from the first set may be positionable in a back-to-back relationship with clamps of the second set.
