Abstract: There is disclosed a system for transmitting digital data with error detection, the system comprising a sender, configured to receive source data and to send transfer data, and a receiver configured to receive the transfer data and to output result data, wherein the sender is further configured to receive the source data, to numerically multiply the source data by an integer number greater than 2, and to output the multiplied source data as the transfer data, and wherein the receiver is further configured to receive the transfer data, to check if dividing the transfer data by the integer number results in an integer result, and, if the checking fails, to output an error indication, and, if the checking succeeds, to output the transfer data divided by the integer number as the result data. Also, a corresponding method is disclosed.

Abstract: An apparatus for providing power at a vehicle turret powered by a turret power source is provided. A power module is configured to be coupled to the turret power source such that the power module receives power from the turret power source. A coupling device is configured to couple the power module to the turret power source such that the power module receives the power from the turret power source via the coupling device. One or more power outlets are configured to provide power to an electronic device coupled to one of the power outlets. The power module and coupling device rotate in conjunction with the vehicle turret when the vehicle turret rotates.

Abstract: A method of controlling the operation of a door of a vehicle relative to a door frame of the vehicle is provided. The position of the door is sensed and a door open command or a door close command is received. Opening or closing of the door at preselected speeds is initiated based on the command received. The length of time that the open command or close command is continuously received is then determined. The door is moved at a relatively slow speed for a predetermined initial time period and after the predetermined initial time period has ended the door is moved at a relatively faster speed.

Abstract: A control mechanism securable to a firing device is provided. The control mechanism includes an actuation component adapted to generate signals in response to activation of the actuation component. Further, the control mechanism includes an attachment apparatus adapted to support the actuation component adjacent to a stock of the firing device. The attachment apparatus has at least one securing member for securement of the attachment apparatus to the stock of the firing device.

Abstract: This invention is a system and a method for performing an I/O in a virtual data storage environment using a new architecture. The system of performing an I/O includes a mapping client integrated into a client of the storage server which in communication with the mapping server included in the storage server retrieves the mapping of the special data sharing storage objects and caches the shared objects in the data cache include in the client environment. The method of accessing the data sharing storage objects by one or more applications running on a client reduces the number of I/O on the storage objects by caching the storage objects in the data cache and bringing the knowledge of data sharing into the client environment.

Abstract: A controller for a door system and an associated method of operation for actuating a door. The controller may be electrically coupled with a motor, an outer door switch and an inner door switch. The controller, activates a motor assist and may maintain a desirable current supply to the motor assist. Determining a relative position of the door and determining whether movement of the door is obstructed is performed. The controller actuates the door to an appropriate position and determines whether door operation exceeds a maximum time threshold. The controller may be configured to deactivate the motor assist once the door reaches an appropriate position or the door operation exceeds the maximum time threshold.

Abstract: Described are techniques for correcting at least some inconsistencies in a file system accessed by at least one client, while maintaining the file system online. A file system checking utility is executed on the file system to detect and create corrections for inconsistencies in the file system. The file system is updated to include at least some corrections. Also described is a computer system comprising a file system accessed by a client. A file system checking utility is executed on the file system to detect at least some inconsistencies in the file system, and to create a corrected version of the file system that includes corrections to correct for at least some of the detected inconsistencies. A report is created. The file system is not updated with the corrected version unless the proposed corrections are approved. The file system checking utility may be periodically scheduled for execution.

Abstract: An apparatus and method are described for defining, maintaining and displaying a checkpoint result set to facilitate identification of desirable checkpoints during system recovery. The checkpoint result set may be mapped to a user-customizable namespace. The user customizes the namespace by selecting one or more characteristics of desirable file system checkpoints. Being able to customize the namespace in this manner enables the user to be provided a more streamlined checkpoint result set in the event of data corruption. As a result an appropriate checkpoint can be more quickly selected for use in recovery.

Abstract: Consistency errors may arise during replication of diverse data storage objects from servers in a data network. For preventing consistency errors, a server is programmed for responding to a request for a report of whether or not the server can replicate the dataset without causing a consistency error. Such a report is useful for replicating a consistency group of objects from more than one server. Preparation for replication can be begun at each of the servers, and if any of the servers fail to report that replication can be done without causing a consistency error, the preparation can be aborted so that write access by applications will not be disrupted while the potential problem is diagnosed and eliminated.
