  • Patent number: 5849575
Abstract: A recombinant DNA molecule comprising a nucleotide sequence substantially corresponding to all or a portion of IBDV RNA, particularly the IBDV RNA segment of approximately 3400 b.p. In particular, a DNA molecule coding for all or a part of at least one structural protein of IBDV, for example, the 32 Kd and/or the 41/37 Kd structural proteins. • Patent number: 5835091
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and article of manufacture for managing and displaying a plurality of views of information in a graphical user interface, with views grouped together to form a stack upon which operations that jointly manipulate the views may be performed. A viewclip mechanism is associated with a stack to provide one or more mechanisms for performing actions on the stack such as shuffling forward and backward through views, directly accessing specific views, and unlocking a stack to permit views to be added or removed from the stack. The stack is represented as a single frame which displays one of the views at a time as its contents. Frame manipulation mechanisms, e.g., minimizing, maximizing, resizing, and repositioning, may be applied to the frame to jointly manipulate display characteristics of the plurality of views in the stack.

  • Patent number: 5822155
Abstract: A magnetic latch assembly for immobilizing a read/write head of a disk drive is provided which magnetically couples to an actuator assembly housing the read/write head with enhanced force. A disk drive which includes the magnetic latch assembly is also provided. The magnetic latch assembly includes a magnet and a magnet holder including ferromagnetic material which at least partially surrounds the magnet and provides a medium through which flux produced by one pole of the magnet travels to an opposing pole of the magnet. The latch assembly magnetically couples the actuator assembly by contacting the actuator assembly in an area adjacent one of the poles of the magnet. In one embodiment, the magnet holder includes ferromagnetic material which surrounds the magnet. In another embodiment, the magnet holder includes a plurality of ferromagnetic flanges which at least partially surround the magnet.

  • Patent number: 5693086
Abstract: Apparatus for delivering an endoluminal stent or prosthesis in the vasculature of a body. The apparatus has an introducer adapted for insertion into the vasculature having a diameter and a first portion of lock fitting on its distal end. It also has a cartridge exterior the body having inner tubular member with a diameter equal to or less than the diameter of the introducer which contains the endoluminal stent or prosthesis in its entirety in a compressed state, an outer sheath, and a second portion of the lock fitting. The apparatus also includes a pusher adapted to fit within the inner tubular member of the cartridge and engage a distal end of the endoluminal or prosthesis. The first portion of the locking fitting on the introducer mates with the second portion of the lock fitting on the cartridge to prevent relative movement of the introducer in the cartridge. The inner tubular member and the introducer form a continuous lumen upon attachment of the cartridge and the introducer.

  • Patent number: 5049138
Abstract: The catheter of the present invention is adapted to be introduced into an internal organ in a body either percutaneously or through a body orifice for drainage of that organ where it can contact bodily fluids. The catheter includes a flexible tubular member that has an inner lumen and a rigid solid tip disposed at the end of the inner lumen. The tip is formed of a material that is slippery when wet, soluble in the bodily fluids and capable of absorbing radiographic fluids that are injected into inner lumen for identification of the location by X-rays. A narrow passageway is disposed in the tip and extends from the inner lumen to the distal end of the tip. The passageway is adapted to receive a guide wire for insertion of the catheter into an internal organ.
