  • Patent number: 6961907
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and article of manufacture providing an “append” extension to cut and copy commands for a clipboard function in a computer system. Data is displayed on a monitor of the computer and a first command is received from an operator to select a portion of the data displayed on the monitor. A second command is then received from the operator to copy or cut the selected portion into a clipboard in a memory of the computer, wherein the second command indicates whether to replace the contents of the clipboard with the selected portion or whether to append the selected portion to the contents of the clipboard.

  • Publication number: 20050232185
Abstract: A method and system for monitoring a mobile ad-hoc network node (e.g. a network enabled aircraft) is provided. The method includes, receiving a message notifying when the ad-hoc node is preparing to join the ad-hoc network; and determining based on a threshold value, when the ad-hoc node should be joining a monitoring system that tracks the status and availability of ad-hoc nodes. The method generates a status message if the ad-hoc node fails to join the monitoring system. The message is received by the monitoring system via and external source to the ad-hoc network. The system includes a data center that receives the message notifying when the node is preparing to join the ad-hoc network; and determines based on a threshold value, when the ad-hoc node should be joining the ad-hoc network and monitoring system.

  • Publication number: 20050234788
Abstract: A method and system for billing for Internet access for an ad-hoc network node, for example, an aircraft is provided. The method includes, receiving a message notifying when the ad-hoc network node starts operating; determining a route for the ad-hoc network node; and determining duration of Internet access to the ad-hoc network node during ad-hoc network node travel. The message is received by a data center via the Internet that monitors the status of the ad-hoc network node. Also, the process generates a billing statement based on duration of travel and geographical area where Internet access is provided.

  • Publication number: 20040071690
Abstract: This invention provides polyvalent or polyspecific protein complexes, comprising three or more polypeptides which associate to form three or more functional target-binding regions (TBRs), and in which each individual polypeptide comprises two or more immunoglobulin-like domains which are covalently joined together, such that two Ig-like domains in a single polypeptide do not associate with each other to form a TBR. By using a linker peptide of fewer than three amino acid residues the immunoglobulin-like domains of the individual polypeptides are prevented from associating, so that complex formation between polypeptides is favoured. Preferably the polyvalent or polyspecific protein is a trimer or tetramer. The proteins of the invention have specificities which may be the same or different, and are suitable for use as therapeutic, diagnostic or imaging agents.

  • Publication number: 20030186848
Abstract: Neisserial iron uptake proteins including transferrin binding protein A (TbpA) and B (TbpB) in both full length form and as immunogenic fragments are made recombinantly. A non-neisserial cell expresses a TbpA which is extracted from the cell under mild conditions and retains substantially the antigenicity of native TbpA on its surface. TbpB is also made recombinantly and both TbpA and TbpB are included in vaccine compositions.
