Publication number: 20260204795Abstract: An integral optical construction includes a frequency selective reflective construction disposed between a decorative cover layer and a ground metallic layer. The ground metallic layer is configured to reflect and/or absorb a radiofrequency electromagnetic wave transmitted by the decorative cover layer and the frequency selective reflective construction. Each of the frequency selective reflective constructions includes a frequency selective surface layer disposed on a multilayer stack and having a group of metallic elements repeating across the frequency selective surface layer to form an array. The integral optical construction reflects a collimated incident RF electromagnetic wave having a wavelength in a range from 1.0 mm to 10 cm and incident at an incident angle as a collimated reflected wave at a reflected angle different from the incident angle.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 5, 2023Publication date: July 16, 2026Inventors: Ivan Lemesh, Kevin W. Publication number: 20260171679Abstract: A patterned article includes a polymeric layer having opposing first and second major surfaces and defining a plurality of through openings therein. For each through opening in at least a sub-plurality of the through openings, a metallic body is disposed in the through opening. The metallic body has a first outermost surface, an opposite second outermost surface and at least one lateral sidewall extending therebetween. The first outermost surface of the metallic body is substantially flush with the first major surface of the polymeric layer. Each lateral sidewall extends from the first outermost surface of the metallic body toward or to, but not past, the second major surface of the polymeric layer. The metallic body is substantially coextensive with the through opening in at least one cross-section parallel to the polymeric layer. The metallic bodies can be electrically isolated from one another.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 5, 2026Publication date: June 18, 2026Inventors: Raymond P. Johnston, John J. Sullivan, Matthew C. Publication number: 20260104751Abstract: The present disclosure describes a system with a power management device, a wakeup circuit, a battery management device, and a connector. During a powered down mode of operation, the battery management device can provide, via the connector, a bias voltage to the wakeup circuit. In response to a wakeup switch being activated, the battery management device can provide a power supply (e.g., from a battery) to the power management device. Benefits of the wakeup circuit include (1) a reduction of battery consumption—and thus improving battery lifetime—when the electronic system is in a powered down mode of operation because the wakeup circuit has lower number of active components compared to other designs and (2) a non-complex wakeup circuit design because one or more existing connector interconnects between the power management device and the battery management device can be re-used during electronic system's powered down mode of operation.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 22, 2025Publication date: April 16, 2026Applicant: Apple Inc.Inventors: Talbott M. Patent number: 12596209Abstract: A light control film includes a plurality of substantially parallel optical cavities. Each of the optical cavities has a height H along a thickness direction of the light control film and a minimum lateral dimension W along an in-plane width direction orthogonal to the thickness direction, where H?W. The optical cavities are substantially filled with a liquid including a plurality of light absorbing particles configured to move along the thickness direction in response to one or more applied signals or fields such that the movement along the thickness direction causes each of the optical cavities to transition between a substantially opaque state and a substantially transparent state. A full viewing angle of the light control film increases when the optical cavities transition from the substantially opaque state to the substantially transparent state.Type: GrantFiled: April 19, 2023Date of Patent: April 7, 2026Assignee: 3M INNOVATIVE PROPERTIES COMPANYInventors: Kevin W. Patent number: 12434427Abstract: Films and articles are described comprising a microstructured surface having an array of peak structures and adjacent valleys. For improved cleanability, the valleys preferably have a maximum width ranging from 10 microns to 250 microns and the peak structures have a side wall angle greater than 10 degrees. The peak structures may comprise two or more facets such as in the case of a linear array of prisms or an array of cube-corners elements. The facets form continuous or semi-continuous surfaces in the same direction. The valleys typically lack intersecting walls. Also described are methods of making and methods of use. The microstructured surface of the article can be prepared by various microreplication techniques such as coating, injection molding, embossing, laser etching, extrusion, casting and curing a polymerizable resin; and bonding microstructured film to a surface or article with an adhesive.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 2023Date of Patent: October 7, 2025Assignee: Solventum Intellectual Properties CompanyInventors: Jodi L. Patent number: 12354674Abstract: Techniques for protecting non-volatile memory (NVM) from power cycle interruptions during memory operations are disclosed. A power management integrated circuit (PMIC) coupled to a memory circuit with NVM implements the various techniques disclosed. When a power reset signal is asserted to a PMIC, the PMIC may delay initiation of the power reset cycle when it detects that the NVM coupled to the PMIC is active to prevent corruption of the NVM by the power reset cycle. The PMIC may detect the activity level of the NVM based on an activity output signal that indicates whether the NVM is active (e.g., programming or erasing) or inactive.Type: GrantFiled: July 26, 2022Date of Patent: July 8, 2025Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: John J.
