Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to polymers having hydroxyl containing bioactive agents incorporated into the backbone of the polymer or attached thereto by pendant linkages. Hydroxyl containing bioactive agents which may be attached to these polymers include antimicrobial agents such as triclosan. The polymers may be utilized to form medical devices or coatings for such devices. The hydroxyl containing bioactive agent may be released from the polymer upon hydrolysis of the polymeric backbone or pendant linkage in vivo.

Abstract: Biocompatible synthetic macromer compositions are provided including a first polymer having multiple functional groups and a second functionalized polyurethane prepolymer, which can be employed as an adhesive or sealant for medical/surgical uses.

Abstract: Some embodiments include methods of forming capacitors. A first capacitor storage node may be formed within a first opening in a first sacrificial material. A second sacrificial material may be formed over the first capacitor storage node and over the first sacrificial material, and a retaining structure may be formed over the second sacrificial material. A second opening may be formed through the retaining structure and the second sacrificial material, and a second capacitor storage node may be formed within the second opening and against the first storage node. The first and second sacrificial materials may be removed, and then capacitor dielectric material may be formed along the first and second storage nodes. Capacitor electrode material may then be formed along the capacitor dielectric material. Some embodiments include methods of forming DRAM unit cells, and some embodiments include DRAM unit cell constructions.

Abstract: A synthetic composition is provided which includes an acid-functional polymer having at least one pendant acid group, an amine-functional polymer having at least one pendant amine group, and a coupling agent. The synthetic composition can be used in human and animal medical applications as an adhesive or sealant.

In one configuration, a computing device receives a request from a principal to access a protected object and evaluating the transitive closure of the list of group identifiers. The protected object is associated with an access control list and has a time-invariant list of group identifiers. The list of group identifiers includes the access list is associated with the protected object to identify at least one principal authorized to access the protected object.

The methods include drying the polymer pellets to be extruded, melt extrusion of copolymer components, stretching the filaments in one or more draw steps and permitting the drawn filaments to relax. Abstract: A media object authentication system uses layers of security features based on digital watermarks embedded in media objects. The system generates a first digital watermark with a message payload carrying data about the object, such as a hash of text data printed on the object. The first digital watermark is combined with a content signature derived from features of the media object, such as frequency domain attributes, edge attributes, or other filtered version of the media signal (e.g., image photo on a secure document) on the media object. This combination forms a new digital watermark signal that is embedded in the host media object. To verify the object, the digital watermark payload is extracted and compared with the data about the object. The combined digital watermark and content signature is also evaluated to authenticate the media signal on the media object.

Abstract: Methods and systems of authenticating a plurality of users for access to an on-line group activity are described. The systems and methods prevent overloading of any participant's computer due to authentication. In some configurations, multiple endpoints are designated as authenticators and requests for authentication are load balanced amongst the authenticators.
