  • Patent number: 10625655
Abstract: A trailer for transporting a liquid mixture having at least about 5% peracetic acid by weight includes a stainless steel tank having an external spill containment enclosure and a predetermined maximum allowable working pressure. One or more pressure relief valves are included in a wall of the tank within the external spill containment enclosure and configured to provide pressure relief to the tank at a pressure of between about 20%-50% of the maximum working pressure of the tank, thereby preventing over-pressurization of a reactive and decomposing fluid during a fire event. Wheels and a kingpin are affixed to the tank to enable transportation over public roadways.

  • Publication number: 20190248679
Abstract: Provided herein are methods and compositions for reducing the level of a cyanotoxin in cyanotoxin contaminated-water. The electrolytic destruction methods can include contacting the contaminated water with an electrochemical cell in the presence of a magnesium salt and applying an electrical current to the water for a time and in an amount sufficient to oxidize the cyanotoxin. The methods are useful for treatment of lake water, reservoir water, pond water, river water, or irrigation water and any water that serves as a source of drinking water.

  • Publication number: 20180271090
Abstract: A method of sterilizing a material, said method comprising the steps of: a) providing a sterilizing composition comprising (i) peracetic acid and (ii) a stabilizer selected from the group consisting of citric acid, isocitric acid, aconitic acid and propane-1,2,3-tricarboxylic acid; b) introducing such sterilizing composition into a hot gaseous stream to produce a peracetic acid vapor; and c) contacting such peracetic acid vapor with the material to be sterilized. The use of such an organic acid stabilizer results in an unexpected reduction in the amount of residue deposited on the heating surface employed to vaporize the sterilizing composition.

  • Publication number: 20150218437
Abstract: Aqueous well treatment fluid compositions with biocidal activity are disclosed comprising a polymer for modifying fluid viscosity in the aqueous fluid, an organic monocarboxylic peracid being present in an anti-microbial amount of about 1 ppm to about 1000 ppm, and a controlled amount of hydrogen peroxide also being present. Peracetic acid is the preferred peracid. The viscosity-modifying polymer in the aqueous well treatment fluid composition may serve to reduce friction in the fluid or increase fluid viscosity.
