  • Patent number: 10769037
Abstract: Improved techniques for disaster recover within storage area networks are disclosed. Embodiments include replicating a LIF of a primary cluster on a secondary cluster. LIF configuration information is extracted from the primary cluster. A peer node from a secondary cluster is located. One or more ports are located on the located peer node that match a connectivity of the LIF from the primary cluster. One or more ports are identified based upon one or more filtering criteria to generate a candidate port list. A port from the candidate port list is selected based at least upon a load of the port. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Publication number: 20200221260
Abstract: A tracking device has a first transceiver, a second transceiver, and control logic. The first transceiver can transmit a first tracking signal for locating the tracking device to mobile devices via a first network. The mobile devices provide the first tracking signal to a tracking server. The second transceiver can transmit a second tracking signal for locating the tracking device to the tracking server via a second network. The control logic can configure the tracking device in a first state in which the first transceiver transmits the first tracking signal, and the second transceiver is disabled and does not transmit the second tracking signal. In response to determining that the tracking device cannot connect to the tracking server via the first network, the control logic configures the tracking device in a second state in which the second transceiver is enabled and transmits the second tracking signal.

  • Patent number: 10693955
Abstract: Improved techniques for disaster recovery of storage service accessible through storage area networks are disclosed. Embodiments include establishing peer relationships between nodes of primary and secondary computing clusters. Configuration information is replicated in near synchronous manner from a primary cluster and used to configure a secondary cluster in a similar manner. Host data is replicated in synchronous manner for all the storage devices and LUNs within them. The secondary cluster is kept updated continuously with configuration information and user data in LUNs on storage devices such that a host may be served data from the secondary cluster when the primary cluster experiences a disaster or failure. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 10652601
Abstract: The subject disclosure describes identifying a table associated with a set-top box that receives services from equipment of a video head-end office, where the table indicates that the set-top box has requested a video stream that would exceed a first number of video streams allocated to the set-top box and would exceed a bandwidth configuration, detecting a conflicting event according to information in the table, reconfiguring the bandwidth configuration allocated to the plurality of set-top boxes to resolve the conflicting event, determining a second number of video streams requested by the plurality of set-top boxes when the conflicting event occurred, determining a third number of video streams to resolve the conflicting event based on a difference between the first number of video streams and the second number of video streams, and instructing the equipment to provide the third number of video streams to the set-top box. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20200061672
Abstract: A classifying device comprising: a bin having an open top face; a flat screen extending along a plane and configured for extending over and fully covering the open top face of the bin, the screen having a netting configured to enable passage of material smaller than a desired size therethrough into the bin; and two flanges disposed at two respective opposite sides of a perimeter of the screen. The device is configured for being placed in a water stream with a water level just above the screen and the flanges disposed substantially along a direction of a water flow of the stream, such that the flanges decrease escape of the water through the sides at which the flanges are disposed, thereby increasing a speed of the water flow over the screen in the direction of the water flow of the stream.

  • Publication number: 20200065883
Abstract: In some cases, a method may include receiving electricity usage data from a re-ordering device and determining usage information for an appliance that is electrically connected to the re-ordering device based on the electricity usage data. The method may also include determining, based on the usage information and order history information for a customer, an estimated remaining quantity of an item that is associated with an appliance type of the appliance. The method further includes comparing the estimated remaining quantity of the item to a threshold associated with the item. In response to determining that the threshold associated with the item is satisfied, the method includes decrementing the estimated remaining quantity of the item. In response to determining that the threshold associated with the item is not satisfied, the method includes generating order data for automated re-ordering of the item for delivery to the customer.

  • Publication number: 20190347057
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming unit that forms an image on a recording paper sheet; a storage unit; a display; a touch panel provided on a screen of the display; and a control unit including a processor. When the processor executes a control program, the control unit functions as: a recognition section that, upon performance of a slide gesture on the touch panel, recognizes a number represented by the slide gesture detected by the touch panel and determines a size of the number; and a control section that sets, among a plurality of printing conditions previously stored in the storage unit, a printing condition corresponding to the size of the number determined by the recognition section and allows the image forming unit to form an image under the set printing condition on the same number of recording paper sheets as indicated by the recognized number.

  • Patent number: 10325123
Abstract: A preconfiguration system preconfigures tracking devices before they are received by a user of the tracking devices. The preconfiguration system generates an activation signal that can be detected by an activation signal detector on a tracking device. Upon detecting the activation signal, the tracking device begins to operate in a preconfiguration mode and establishes a communicative connection with the preconfiguration system. The preconfiguration system can then communicate with the tracking device to perform a variety of tasks, including receiving a tracking device identifier from the tracking device so that the tracking device identifier can be associated with the user identifier for the user who purchased the tracking device.
