  • Publication number: 20200051456
Abstract: A device, sometimes mobile, which simulates human motion, such as an omnidirectional sensing target. The target that can detect and differentiate between projectile (bullet) hits to the head, body, and one or more peripheral regions (e.g., arms, pelvis, legs) of a humanoid-form target, elicit a physical response from the mobile device based upon the sensing data, and provide real time feedback to a user (shooter) via a user-friendly interface. The target includes multiple layers of conductive material separated by one or more insulating layers. Forming can be by wrapping planar sensing panel into a three-dimensional configuration such that the panel occludes a three-dimensional volume and presents surfaces sensing projectiles from all directions. Associated circuitry is configured to have a bullet pass through multiple zones and to electronically detect the bullet path based on a combination and/or sequence of zones detecting bullet passage.

  • Patent number: 10557833
Abstract: A method is disclosed provide a method of collecting a group of scan data files and organizing those files for batch data processing to produce a weld indications table for each scan data file in a prioritized manner. The invention also provides a procedure for controlling the pre-processing of each file by extracting meta-data held in an ultrasonic data file and from such data determine whether the testing data is valid for review. A series of rules may be used by a selection engine to control a batch list of files for data processing and for review after data processing so that time by a weld inspector may be optimized for each construction project.

  • Publication number: 20200040529
Abstract: The disclosure provides fibrous structures and tissue products comprising a volatile agave compound selected from the group consisting of limonene, hexanaldehyde and 6-Methyl-5-hepten-2-one. The volatile agave compounds may be provided by forming the structures at least in-part from agave fiber, such as Agave tequilana fiber. In other embodiments the volatile agave compounds may be incorporated in the fibrous structures by adding the compounds during formation of the fibrous structure, such as by adding the compounds to the furnish, or by topically applying the compounds to the fibrous structure after formation, in order to provide a lemon-like scent to the fibrous structure.

  • Patent number: 10551351
Abstract: A system is disclosed that increases the efficiency of a weld inspector by reducing the amount of weld data that needs to be examined for any non-destructive (“NDT”) phased array and time-of-flight, diffraction ultrasonic testing of welds. The system reads ultrasonic testing data from an NDT scan of a series of metal welds and creates a table of target weld indications ranked by a series of filters representative of predetermined exclusion and significance criteria. The invention acts as a weld analysis concentrator by focusing the attention of an inspector on potential weld flaws that merit their attention, thereby increasing the efficiency of the inspector. The process typically reduces 95% to 98% of the ultrasonic weld testing data that must be reviewed by the inspector, while retaining flaw indications necessary for an inspector's competent review in conformity with various code requirements and regulations.

  • Patent number: 10550522
Abstract: The present invention provides soft, durable and bulky tissue products comprising non-wood fibers and more particularly hesperaloe fiber. The inventors have discovered that high yield hesperaloe pulp fiber, when incorporated in amounts of at least about 5 percent by weight of the tissue product, produces products having a GMT less than about 1000 g/3? and a GM Slope less than about 7.0 kg. At the foregoing tensile strengths and modulus the tissue products of the present invention are also generally soft, such as having a Stiffness Index less than about 10.0, and more preferably less than about 9.0, such as from about 7.0 to about 9.0.

  • Publication number: 20200006843
Abstract: Disclosed is a cross loop antenna system for an aerial vehicle. In one embodiment, the cross loop antenna system includes a cross bar antenna and a ground plane. The cross bar antenna includes two thin coplanar perpendicular bars that intersect in the middle and are parallel to the ground plane. Each bar couples to the ground plane at each end, comprising an antenna loop. Thus, the cross loop antenna system comprises two intersecting single-fed loops. The antenna can operate at a wavelength that is approximately twice the length of the bars. In such an embodiment, the antenna system may be resonant. The distance between the bars and the ground plane may be relatively small, thus minimalizing the vertical profile of the antenna. The antenna may be operated as a dual-band antenna and may produce an omnidirectional radiation pattern. An aerial vehicle may include two such antennas.

  • Patent number: 10524272
Abstract: In one embodiment, a control device associated with a wireless network of a given location determines a reference quality of location readings between access points and client devices based on using substantially all of an available wireless communication bandwidth. The control device may then determine channel state information (CSI) between the client devices and access points for each orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA) resource unit (RU), and selects a subset of RUs for allocation to each respective client device, based on the subset of RUs allocated to each respective client device i) surpassing a determined threshold of certain parameters of the CSI, while also ii) providing a minimum quality of a location reading based on using only the subset of RUs as compared to the reference quality of location readings. The control device may then allocate the selected subset of RUs to each respective client device for location-preserving OFDMA-signaling-based communication.

  • Patent number: 10519601
Abstract: The present invention relates to tissue products comprising high yield hesperaloe fiber having improved wet performance, such as improved absorbency, CD Wet/Dry Ratio and CD Wet Durability. The addition of high yield hesperaloe pulp fibers surprisingly improves the CD Wet/Dry ratio without negatively affecting the absorbency of the tissue product. For example, tissue products of the present invention generally have an Absorbent Capacity greater than about 6.0 g/g, such as from about 6.0 to 8.0 g/g. As such the tissue products are durable when wet, but are still sufficiently absorbent. This balance of absorbency and wet strength is not found in the prior art without resorting to adding latex binders or the like to the tissue product.
