  • Publication number: 20170366641
Abstract: A social networking platform can provide universal profiles. A universal profile can define a user's account on the social networking platform of the present invention and can include a number of different endpoints by which the user can establish channels with other users. These endpoints can include a phone number endpoint and an email endpoint as well as a number of endpoints pertaining to the user's profiles with other social networking platforms. A user can define which endpoints will be included in his or her universal profile. Then, when other users view the user's universal profile, they will be able to see which endpoints the user has included and will be able to create a channel with the user via any of the endpoints.

  • Patent number: 9846965
Abstract: Techniques for displaying an augmented reality toy. Embodiments capture a visual scene for display. The visual scene includes a first physical object and is captured using one or more camera devices. The first physical object is identified as a first predetermined object type, based on one or more object identifiers associated with the first physical object. Embodiments retrieve predefined geometric information corresponding to the first predetermined object type and render a sequence of frames for display in which the captured visual scene is augmented, based on the predefined geometric information.

  • Publication number: 20170261214
Abstract: In a method for superimposed conveyance of data and electrical power, a first switch can cycle to convey the electric power and data from a first device. Binary digits of the data from the first device can be represented by transitions, of a voltage at a node of a second device, between a first voltage and a second voltage. A second switch can cycle to convey data from the second device. Binary digits of the data from the second device can be represented by transitions, of a current through a component of the first device, between being less than a threshold and being greater than the threshold. A voltage regulator of the second device can provide, in response to the voltage at the node being within a range of voltages that includes the first voltage and the second voltage, the electrical power to one or more components.

  • Patent number: 9743580
Abstract: A blade holder device for supporting and immobilizing blades when replacing or assembling a pair of blades on a lawnmower. The blade holder device includes an X-shaped frame having a first elongated support pivotally secured to a second elongated support. The elongated supports have an aperture disposed in the center thereof in order to receive a fastener therethrough. Each elongated support further includes a first and second pair of segments permanently attached to the ends thereof. The pair of segments include a recessed area therebetween in order to receive a portion of a blade therein. The device is removably attached directly to the underside of the deck of a riding lawnmower. The device can be placed over a pair of blades to prevent injury of an individual removing or assembling the blades and to prevent damage to the blades themselves.

  • Patent number: 9747817
Abstract: A foot model having a plurality of segments representing the bones of a human foot. The segments are held together through a series of elastic cords. A portion of the segments contain hollow portions and/or tunnels which the elastic cords are placed in and through. The cords and segments form a first position of the foot model which demonstrates a normal human foot. The cords can be manipulated by pulling and other forces to arrange the segments in a second position. The second position demonstrates a foot ailment or condition such as club foot. The model can be manipulated to regain the first position and any position in between the first and second position.

  • Patent number: 9725887
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a device for facilitating siphoning of greywater (graywater) or gently used water. An adapter is designed to fit onto the end of a hose or tube. The adapter is manually held tightly or attached by friction to a spigot or faucet. The faucet is turned on and running water primes the hose. The adapter is then placed under the surface of a collection of greywater in a sink, tub, clothes washer and the like. Greywater is then allowed to flow to a garden, lawn, cistern or other place where the greywater can be put to use instead of shunting it into a sewer. The device includes a funnel-shaped portion and a threaded portion. The device is made from a pliant material such as a silicone rubber or plastic.

  • Patent number: 9672667
Abstract: In one embodiment, a system for presenting fleet vehicle operation information in standardized forms includes a telematics module and a data standardizing module. The telematics module receives measurements related to operation of multiple vehicles in a fleet. The data standardizing module, using a first technique, estimates a first value for a parameter for at least one vehicle of the multiple vehicles based at least on the measurements. Further, the data standardizing module, using a second technique, estimates a second value for the parameter for at least one vehicle of the multiple vehicles based at least on the measurements. The second technique including using some measurement to estimate the second value different from the measurements used to estimate the first value according to the first technique. The data standardizing module outputs one or both of the first value and the second value for presentation to a user.

  • Publication number: 20170109373
Abstract: In an embodiment, a system can determine geocoded data from a database of geographic coordinates and metadata. The system correlates metadata, such as invoice data, to geolocation data, such as GPS or cellular data to determine geocoded data. The system further identifies one or more geographic coordinates for one or more location names, which may not have a corresponding metadata entry, by generating clusters of geographic coordinates. The clusters are then matched to one or location names using a matching algorithm. Accordingly, improved geocoded data may be determined.

  • Publication number: 20160306585
Abstract: Content is transferred from a first non-volatile storage medium to a second non-volatile storage medium without reproduction. This is accomplished by reading first data stored in the first non-volatile storage medium from the first non-volatile storage medium to volatile memory, erasing the first data from the first non-volatile storage medium, and after erasing the first data from the first non-volatile storage medium, storing corresponding data in a second non-volatile storage medium. And after storing the corresponding data in the second non-volatile storage medium, the first data is erased from the volatile memory. The first data is not concurrently stored in the first non-volatile storage medium and the second non-volatile storage medium.

  • Publication number: 20160306575
Abstract: Content is lent, or temporarily transferred, without reproduction, by reading first data stored in a first non-volatile storage medium from the first non-volatile storage medium to a first volatile memory, and transmitting corresponding data from the first volatile memory to a second volatile memory. After the reading or transmitting, at least a portion of the first data is erased from the first non-volatile storage medium. The data and corresponding data are also erased from the first volatile memory and second volatile memory and are thus stored in volatile memory for a period of not more than transitory duration. The portion of the first data stored in the first non-volatile storage medium and the corresponding data stored in the second non-volatile storage medium are not concurrently stored. In some embodiments, the first data includes one or more respective keys, each key for decrypting a respective encrypted data chunk.

  • Patent number: 9418629
Abstract: Techniques for augmenting an appearance of a first object. Embodiments include capturing a visual scene for display. Here, the visual scene includes a physical object and wherein the visual scene is captured using one or more camera devices. The physical object is identified as a first predetermined object type, based on one or more object identifiers associated with the physical object. Embodiments also retrieve visual characteristics information corresponding to the first predetermined object type. A sequence of frames that includes the first object is then rendered for display, where the appearance the first object in the rendered sequence of frames is augmented based on the retrieved visual characteristics information and an appearance of the physical object in the captured visual scene.

  • Patent number: 9390084
Abstract: The present invention provides a technique for building natural language parsers by implementing a country and/or jurisdiction specific set of training data that is automatically converted during a build phase to a respective predictive model, i.e., an automated country specific natural language parser. The predictive model can be used without the training data to quantify any input address. This model may be included as part of a larger Geographic Information System (GIS) data-set or as a stand alone quantifier. The build phase may also be run on demand and the resultant predictive model kept in temporary storage for immediate use.

  • Patent number: 9370557
Abstract: The invention relates to the use of bacterial cytolysin proteins, such as pneumolysin, as adjuvants for stimulating or enhancing immune responses against co-administered target antigens. Desirably, the target antigen is provided as a fusion protein with the cytolysin. The inventors have found that cytolysins may be particularly effective for stimulation of mucosal immune responses against the target antigen.
