    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for universal-blindmate sleeve comprising mounting mechanisms for mounting the universal sleeve to a midplane. The universal-blindmate sleeve comprising a sleeve housing, having a first opening for receiving a first blindmate connector. The first opening is arranged at an end of the sleeve housing and facing a first side of the midplane. The sleeve housing further having a second opening for receiving a second blindmate connector, wherein the second opening is arranged at an opposing end of the sleeve housing and facing an opposing side of the midplane. The cold plate assembly includes one or more cold plates to engage with the pluggable modules and transfer heat from the modules to liquid coolant. The cold plate assembly also includes a pivoting support that supports the cold plate(s) and pivots relative to the system board, and an engagement mechanism comprising a mechanical linkage with mechanical advantage attached to the pivoting support such that moving a link of the mechanical linkage causes the pivoting support to pivot between an engaged position and a disengaged position. In the engaged position, the cold plate contacts is positioned to engaged with the pluggable module, while in the disengaged position the cold plate is disengaged from the pluggable module.

A bracket of the optical connector gangs the plurality of ferrule carriers together. Ferrule carrier adapters are configured to accept a plurality of optical connectors for inline or orthogonal mating. Each ferrule carrier within the optical connectors is independently floated on the bracket, allowing each ferrule carrier to be mated and demated independently of any other ferrule carrier in the optical connector.

    Abstract: An edge-attachable (EA) optical connector includes an optical connector housing for an optical connector. The optical connector housing includes a slot that aligns with a module board edge finger electrical connector, such that the optical connector housing can be slid over a module board edge finger electrical connector and attached to the module board edge. An optical connector on one end of an optical fiber bundle or ribbon fits within the optical connector housing. When the optical connector housing is attached to the module board edge, the optical connector blind mates with a host optical connector supported by a bracket to which a host electrical connector is attached. An optical connector on another end of the optical fiber bundle or ribbon mates with a module board optical connector. The module board optical connector may include an optical socket mounted on an opto-electronic chip disposed on the module board.

    Abstract: Scalable-bandwidth aggregation boxes are disclosed that allow scalable electrical connection bandwidth of multiple servers in a rack to aggregation modules and compact bifurcatable optical cables to connect the aggregation modules to switches, while minimizing switch faceplate connector area requirements by using optical connectors. Users of a system including scalable-bandwidth aggregation boxes can choose a desired bandwidth cable to connect a server to a switch via an aggregation box.
