  • Patent number: 10359143
Abstract: A pipe liner has an elongate duct of thin laminated thermoplastic layers and remains relatively flexible and folded to a flat form. In this form, opposing sides of the duct are pressed into close proximity aided by folding of the duct, so the liner can be stored efficiently. In use, the liner is inserted into a pipe. The liner is subsequently heated and pressed against the inner surface of the pipe to form a close fit. Once the liner cools, it sets in place providing a close fitting pipe lining. In order to ensure adequate and even heating of the pipe liner during installation, heating is provided within the liner. The heating may comprise: a plurality of conductive filaments; electromagnetic susceptor material; or a plurality of magnetic particles.

  • Publication number: 20190158465
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses enable deploying and executing a security policy on endpoints in a network. In an embodiment, a security orchestrator determines a set of endpoints in a network and determines transformed endpoints from the determined set of endpoints through an endpoint transformation process. The security orchestrator determines a connectivity vector for at least a first transformed endpoint and a second transformed endpoint, where the connectivity vector includes properties associated with the corresponding transformed endpoint. Using the properties from the connectivity vector of the first transformed endpoint, a security policy is generated and deployed to the first transformed endpoint. Based on a comparison of the connectivity vectors of the first and second transformed endpoints indicating a similarity between the first and second transformed endpoints, the security policy is further deployed to the second transformed endpoint.

Abstract: A display unit for a manually operated machine tool includes a display having windows and text each associated with and indicating positions of different axes of the manually operated machine tool which are manually adjustable. A memory stores configuration modes of the display including a stationary mode in which the windows and text provided in the display are each the same size and color, and at least one emphasis mode in which the window and/or text associated with one of the different axes is larger and/or a different color. A processor is configured to switch the display from using the stationary mode to using an emphasis mode based a position signal indicating that one of the different axes is being adjusted by manual operation of an operator such that the window and text associated with the axis being adjusted is emphasized on the display.

  • Publication number: 20190072715
Abstract: Methods and systems are presented for heterogeneous integration of photonics and electronics with atomic layer deposition (ALD) bonding. One method includes operations for forming a compound semiconductor and for depositing (e.g., via atomic layer deposition) a continuous film of a protection material (e.g., Al2O3) on a first surface of the compound semiconductor. Further, the method includes an operation for forming a silicon on insulator (SOI) wafer, with the SOI wafer comprising one or more waveguides. The method further includes bonding the compound semiconductor at the first surface to the SOI wafer to form a bonded structure and processing the bonded structure. The protection material protects the compound semiconductor from acid etchants during further processing of the bonded structure.
