  • Patent number: 11542814
Abstract: A combined telemetry system that can be used while drilling a wellbore consists of a multi-hop telemetry method and a single-hop telemetry method combined in parallel. The multi-hop and single-hop methods can be operated in parallel, for example, so that each telemetry method caries data concurrently from the Measuring-While-Drilling tool located in the Bottom-Hole-Assembly. The multi-hop and single-hop methods can also be operated in series, for example, so that data from the Measuring-While-Drilling tool located in the Bottom-Hole-Assembly are first carried with the single-hop telemetry method and then transferred to the multi-hop telemetry method at one or more node(s) close to the surface. Preferably, the multi-hop telemetry method can also carry data from along-string sensors. Another combined telemetry system that can be used while drilling a wellbore consists of two single-hop telemetry methods combined in parallel.

  • Patent number: 11525707
Abstract: A linear rotary encoder includes a pair of rotational surfaces. A contact belt has a first end coupled to a first rotational surface in the pair and a second end coupled to a second rotational surface in the pair. The contact belt is driven to rotate around the pair of rotational surfaces by a driving force applied to media to move the media from the first end toward the second end. An encoding scale is coupled to an inner surface of the contact belt. A reader is positioned to read the encoding scale as the contact belt rotates around the pair of rotational surfaces. The reader generates an output signal indicating a position of the media based on reading of the encoding scale.

  • Patent number: 11513231
Abstract: The technology described herein recalibrates a structured light sensor in the field using time-of-flight sensor data. Structured light sensors are sensitive to mechanical changes that result in decreased accuracy. A structured light system calculates the range to an object by comparing a reference image to the actual image of the scene. The reference image is what the projected light pattern would look like on a flat object at a known distance. When the projected image changes, the reference image no longer matches the projected pattern. The calibration technology described herein captures a new reference image based on the current sensor characteristics using a time-of-flight capable sensor as the structured light imaging sensor.

  • Patent number: 11508643
Abstract: Methods and apparatus of forming a thermal interface with condensate are described. In an example, a device may be disposed in a test environment or a test apparatus. An amount of condensate may be accumulated on a heat sink to coat the heat sink with a layer of condensate. The coated heat sink may be disposed on the device, where the layer of condensate is directed towards the device, and the disposal of the coated heat sink causes the layer of condensate to spread among voids between the heat sink and the device to form a thermal interface that includes the condensate. A test may be executed on the device with the thermal interface comprising the condensate between the coated heat sink and the device.

  • Patent number: 11500100
Abstract: One example provides a time-of-flight depth imaging system configured to modulate light emitted from a light source to illuminate an environment with modulated light, and for each of one or more modulation frequencies, integrate an image at each phase step of a plurality of phase steps, and sense a temperature of the light source and/or image sensor via one or more temperature sensors to acquire a measured temperature. The instructions are further executable to, and for each pixel of one or more pixels of the image sensor, determine a complex phasor based upon the measured temperature using a linear inverse function for each modulation frequency, determine a phase shift between the light emitted from the light source and light from the light source reflected back by the environment based on the complex phasor, and output a depth value for the pixel based upon the phase shift.

  • Publication number: 20220321445
Abstract: A system and method for monitoring one or more Mobility Management Entities (MMEs) with a plurality of scalable Virtual Machines (VM)/probes arranged in a cluster format. A ciphered packet is received from a MME at a smart cluster device/probe whereby data is aggregated from the individual clustered VMs/probes for distribution to a monitoring device. The smart cluster device/probe is preferably configured to decipher the ciphered packet received from the MME and extract metadata from the deciphered packet to identify subscriber information for the received packet. The deciphered packet is then distributed to one of the plurality of clustered probes to balance the load amongst the plurality of clustered probes. The balancing of loads is based upon prescribed load balancing criteria such that each packet received for an identified subscriber is sent to a same probe such that load balancing is performed on a per subscriber basis and/or with other state-based criteria.
