  • Patent number: 10277484
Abstract: A system and method for detecting, reporting and collecting information associated with network events is provided. A network element, such as an Event Reporter, detects an event that requires reporting to a manager of the network. The Event Reporter can determine if it is the lead responsible for reporting the event and forward it directly to the manager. Alternatively, it can forward the event report to a peer entity that has been designated as the lead. If the Event Reporter is the lead for the event, it can determine that it should relinquish the lead responsibility and initiate a hand-over of the lead role to a peer.

  • Publication number: 20190123668
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for braking a translator of a linear multiphase electromagnetic machine. The system detects a fault event, and in response to detecting the fault event, causes the translator to brake using an electromagnetic technique. Braking includes causing the translator to stop reciprocating, by applying a force opposing an axial motion, which may occur within one cycle, or over many cycles. The fault event may include, for example, a fault associated with an encoder, a controller, an electrical component, a communications link, a phase, or a subsystem. The system includes a power electronics system configured to apply current to the phases. The system may use position information, current information, operating parameters, or a combination thereof to brake. Alternatively, the system need not use position information, current information, and operating parameters, and may brake the translator independent of such information.

  • Publication number: 20190089225
Abstract: Multiphase electromagnetic machines, such as free-piston engines or compressors, may require, or supply, a pulsed power profile from or to a DC bus, respectively. The pulsed power profile may include relatively large fluctuations in instantaneous power. Sourcing, sinking, or otherwise exchanging power with an AC grid, via an inverter, may be accomplished by using an energy storage device and a DC-DC converter coupled to a DC bus. The energy storage device may aid in smoothing the pulsed power profile, while the DC-DC converter may aid in reducing fluctuations in voltage across a DC bus due to energy storage in the energy storage device.

  • Publication number: 20180361083
Abstract: A nebulizer comprises a controller linked at its output to a nebulizer head, and at its input to a USB cable and USB plug for connection to a host system. The link between the USB plug and the controller is a USB cable with power and data channels. The controller comprises a boost circuit, a microcontroller 11, and a drive circuit. The latter provides power and control signals via a cable and proprietary plug to the nebulizer head. These signals provide power and control for a vibrating membrane receiving a liquid to be aerosolised. The controller has a housing with LED status lamps, and an ON/OFF button. The controller can be controlled via a host, either locally or remotely.

  • Publication number: 20180287854
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for correlating event notifications between agents in a management network are provided. An agent constructs a network notification in response to receiving an event notification. If the received event notification is associated with a prior notification already received and stored by the agent, a correlation attribute is added to the constructed network notification. If the received notification matches a peer agent notification category that another agent in the management network is interested in receiving, the constructed network notification is sent to the other agent.

  • Patent number: 9394689
Abstract: A tiltable flat roof structure includes vertical columns and horizontally oriented hollow beams. Each hollow beam has a downwardly facing opening in a mounting area with the upper end of a column positioned therein. Holes are defined in the upper end of each column oriented in a regular pattern. Arcuate slots are defined in the mounting area of each beam with each of the slots having a length equal to an amount of relative rotation between the beam and the column. The slots are oriented in a regular pattern matching the regular pattern of the mounting holes so that the holes are aligned with the slots throughout the amount of relative rotation. Nuts are affixed to the inner surface of each of the columns in alignment with each of the holes and bolts are inserted through the holes and matching slots to fixedly orient the beams relative to the columns.
