Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for smart control of cooling systems to optimize cooling utilization such that demand charges can be avoided. The present invention groups battery energy storage systems (BESS) containers into multiple individual blocks. The cooling units of individual blocks are staggered to turn ON/OFF with a time delay such that: i) cooling load of each block is below the demand load; ii) if the cooling load of a given block exceeds the demand load (ex: 500 kilowatts), the turn-on time during the demand charge hour is not to exceed the demand charge time limit (example: 15 minutes); iii) No two blocks are operating at the same time; iv) the staggered time limits are to be determined based on real-time monitoring of BESS; and BESS containers' internal temperatures such that they do not exceed a set temperature.

Abstract: A thermal radiant barrier and methods of use are provided. The thermal radiant barrier includes a first elongated planar member and first and second walls projecting from opposite edges of the planar base. When in use, the thermal radiant base is affixed to the underside of roof decking with the first and second walls being affixed to the underside of the decking. An air passageway from the soffit vent along side the underside of the decking is created to permit the air to be channeled from the soffitt vent into the attic area alongside the decking. The temperature of the air is controlled by using material of an R-value recommended by the construction code of the region. The thermal radiant barrier may include a second elongated planar member hingeably connected to the first elongated planar member at an angle equal to the angel between the rafter and joist in a roofing structure. The second elongated member is positioned underlying Batt insulation in proximity to the soffitt vent and soffitt baffle.

The content management system can classify stored documents into different “layout” types (e.g., “article”, “email”, or “coupon”), and also identify and classify discrete elements within each document according to different “element types” (e.g., “title”, “description”, “date”, or “image”). The content management system can also store documents according to multiple different digital formats. Storing documents in different formats, as well as metadata identifying each document's layout and element types, can facilitate retrieval of old content for the purpose of repackaging into new content. In particular, using multiple formats and identifying metadata can facilitate the content repackaging process by increasing the effectiveness of automated computer processes and decreasing the amount of human intervention required.

In one exemplary embodiment, a system and method of a kernel in an operating system including generating a data structure having an identifier of a graphics resource assigned to a physical memory location in video memory, and blocking access to the physical memory location if a data within the physical memory location is in transition between video memory and system memory wherein a client application accesses memory in the system memory directly and accesses memory in the video memory through a virtual memory map.

Abstract: A system for searching the Internet for a document, comprises at least one computer system including, a first data repository, a second data repository and a processor. The first repository of data represents an organization of documents provided in response to frequency of terms found in individual documents. The second repository of data represents topics, with an individual topic being associated with, (a) a set of documents in the first repository and (b) a related topic. A processor is configured to, in response to a received search term, use the first and second repositories to identify search result documents in the organization of documents including documents from a first set of documents associated with the individual topic and a second set of documents associated with the related topic.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses to create and manage volatile graphics objects in a video memory are disclosed. An object is created and marked as volatile. The volatile object is stored in a video memory of a graphics subsystem. A volatile marking indicates that data for an object is not to be paged out from the video memory to make room for other data. The video memory space occupied by the volatile object is indicated as a volatile storage, in a data structure. Another object is written into at least a portion of the video memory space, which is occupied by the volatile object, without paging out data for the volatile object. In one embodiment, at least a portion of the volatile object is referenced or used while another object is formed. The volatile object may be discarded after being referenced or used to form another object.

In response, the system automatically transitions to a full-screen mode in which a graphics processor flushes content to the display. The full-screen mode includes flipping between a front surface buffer and a back surface buffer associated with the first application. It is subsequently detected that the window surface associated with the first application is not an exclusive window surface for the display. In response, the system automatically transitions to a windowed mode in which the graphics processor flushes content to the display. In windowed mode, the system frame buffer is flushed to the display. The transition to windowed mode includes a minimum number of buffer content copy operations between the front surface buffer, the back surface buffer and the system frame buffer.

In some embodiments, a recipient may indicate that certain, or all, aspects of the profile be kept private, so that the buyer need not know information about the recipient such as his/her body measurements, fit preferences, style preferences, and/or other information to be able to shop confidently for the recipient.
