  • Patent number: 11422807
Abstract: An apparatus and method of operating an apparatus are provided. The apparatus is responsive to a bit-testing instruction which specifies a source vector register and an index to perform a bit-testing procedure on plural elements stored in the source vector register to generate plural result bits. The bit-testing procedure comprises, for each processed element of the plural elements, setting a respective result bit of the plural result bits in dependence on a value of a tested bit at a bit position in the processed element of the source vector register indicated by the index. This bit-testing instruction thus enables increased performance of program code which is required to perform multiple bit tests and can be suitably formulated into a vectorised form.

  • Patent number: 11417644
Abstract: Examples of integrated semiconductor devices are described. In one example, an integrated device includes first and second transistors formed on a substrate, where the transistors share a terminal metal feature to reduce a size of the integrated device. The terminal metal feature can include a shared source electrode metalization, for example, although other electrode metalizations can be shared. In other aspects, a first width of a gate of the first transistor can be greater than a second width of a gate of the second transistor, and the shared metalization can taper from the first width to the second width. The integrated device can also include a metal ground plane on a backside of the substrate, and the terminal metal feature can also include an in-source via for the shared source electrode metalization. The in-source via can electrically couple the shared source electrode metalization to the metal ground plane.

  • Publication number: 20220170848
Abstract: An optically thin sample of a sample material is analyzed by propagating probe electromagnetic radiation from a beam source along a plurality of different ray paths, directing each ray so that each ray path intersects upon the sample at a plurality of different locations where the rays interact with the sample material to cause a modification of the ray. The rays received at each of a plurality of detection spatial region are measured separately and the measurements analyzed to provide information about at least one property of the sample material at each interaction location. An analysis is carried out to trace the path of probe radiation from a location at the probe beam source to the detection spatial region on the detection surface so as to identify the interaction locations so as to provide information about the presence of target material at each interaction location.

  • Publication number: 20220170839
Abstract: A biological sample is analyzed for presence of a causing agent such as a virus, bacteria or cancer which generates a series of different states in the sample. The sample is separated into sub-samples where at least some of the sub-samples include portions of the sample at different states. Electromagnetic radiation interacts with the samples to obtain a spectrum of sub-sample properties which is compared with a plurality of reference spectra obtained from testing a plurality of sub-samples in respective ones of the different states to calculate a population distribution of the states of the sub-samples to obtain information about the causing agent. The population distribution can be analyzed at a single time or temporally over time to generate data relating to an effect of the causing agent. The population distribution is compared with a plurality of reference population distributions to generate data identifying the causing agent.

The method is implemented by a system that includes an airtight container including a treatment chamber, a chamber entrance/exit, at least one UV lamp, and an ozone dispensing system. The method begins placing at least one piece of fabric-based currency through the chamber entrance/exit and into the treatment chamber. The piece of fabric-based currency is hermetically sealed within the treatment chamber by closing the chamber entrance/exit. The piece of fabric-based currency is then exposed to at least one quantity of UV radiation for a specified period of time. The piece of fabric-based currency is exposed to a quantity of ozone for another specified period of time by pumping the quantity of ozone into the treatment chamber. The chamber entrance/exit is finally opened, and the piece of fabric-based currency is removed from the treatment chamber.
