Abstract: A utility pole mounted charging station includes an enclosure for housing the charging station. The enclosure has a way to be mounted to the utility pole, coming in two sections that are bolted together around the utility pole. The charging station receives power, preferably by power lines that pass through a hollow core of the utility pole. Within the enclosure is an electric vehicle charging circuit that receives power from the power lines and the electric vehicle charging circuit provides charging power to a vehicle by way of a charging cable and a charging connector. A front access panel of the enclosure is held to the enclosure by a plurality of security screws.

Abstract: An information management system may store information related to tasks to be performed by workers in an organization. Workers in the organization may communicate with the information management system using email messages. The information management system may not require a login or authentication procedure, and workers may interact with the information management system without the need to log in to the information management system. The information management system may receive an email message from a worker that indicates a request for a report. The information management system may determine whether to transmit the report to the worker based on whether the worker is appropriately registered with the information management system, and/or whether the worker has administrative privileges. • Publication number: 20240078278
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for aggregating media (and commentary on that media) into a topology. To do so, the system receives first content (and associated metadata) as well as second content (and associated metadata). The system then generates a topology based on a relationship between the first content and the second content, where the topology has a number of dimensions based on the metadata of the different pieces of content. The system then compares the topology and the metadata to previously stored topologies and/or metadata and, based on that comparison, executes a machine learning algorithm. The output of that machine learning algorithm includes predicted future changes to the topology, which the system uses to reduce the number of dimensions within the topology.

  • Patent number: 11919005
Abstract: A fluid specimen collection receptacle includes a cup containing a chamber and an open end and a lid for connection with the cup open end and closing the cup chamber. A closure and a specimen collection needle are connected with the lid and a reservoir is arranged beneath the lid and connected with the closure for rotation relative to the lid between open and closed positions. The closure affords access to the needle when the closure is in the open position and prevents access to the needle when the closure is in the closed position. The reservoir includes a chamber closed by a portion of the lid when the closure is in the open position. When the closure is rotated to the closed position, the reservoir is opened for communication with the cup chamber to release an absorbent material from the reservoir chamber into the cup chamber to solidify any residual fluid specimen within the cup chamber.

  • Patent number: 11919552
Abstract: A train control system uses sensory inputs related to operational parameters of a train for automatically scoring or classifying particular train driving strategies implemented by a machine learning model for a particular train operating on a predefined route or route segment. The train control system includes one or more predefined rules related to one or more of a first set of the operational parameters, wherein each of the rules defines a Boolean, true or false classification based on whether a particular train driving strategy results in one or more of the first set of operational parameters complying with the rule. One or more comparative key performance indicators are related to one or more of a second set of operational parameters, and are used to rank the particular train driving strategy for the predefined route or route segment relative to a different train driving strategy for the same or comparable route or route segment.

  • Patent number: 11920945
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for providing landmark-assisted navigation guidance by selectively utilizing database information includes receiving navigation requests from one or more mobile computing devices, each of the requests being associated with a respective starting point, destination, and travel mode. For each navigation request, a corresponding route to be depicted in a corresponding digital map is determined. For each navigation request associated with a first travel mode, corresponding points of interest (POIs) are determined from among a plurality of POIs stored in a database. The corresponding POIs are determined based at least on whether the corresponding POIs are associated with any landmark category. For each navigation request associated with a second travel mode, corresponding POIs are determined irrespective of whether the corresponding POIs are associated with any landmark categories.

  • Publication number: 20240072643
Abstract: A driver for driving a switched-mode power supply is presented. The driver receives a set of input signals. Each input signal is configured for changing a state of an associated power switch from a first state to a second state. The driver generates an output signal to change the state of the associated power switch from the first state to the second state. When the first state is an on state and the second state is an off state, the driver asserts the output signal to change the state of the associated power switch to perform an on-off transition. When the first state is the off state and the second state is the on state, the driver delays the assertion of the output signal to perform an off-on transition by a predetermined delay time, so that the off-on transition is delayed until all intended on-off transitions have occurred.
