  • Patent number: 12100021
Abstract: An electronic commerce (e-commerce) system may send advertisement emails to customers that are registered with the e-commerce system. The advertisement emails may include mailto hyperlinks. Each mailto hyperlink may be associated with a product that is being offered for sale, and each mailto hyperlink describes an email message that may be generated when that hyperlink is selected. When a mailto hyperlink is selected, the generated email message may include one or more parameters related to the product associated with the hyperlink, such as an identifier of the product. The generated email message may then be transmitted to the e-commerce system. The e-commerce system may receive the message and, based on the parameters in the received message, execute a transaction to purchase the identified product on behalf of the customer.

  • Publication number: 20240313291
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and systems to manage thermal runaway issues in energy storage systems. Exemplary embodiments include methods and systems having a compressible thermal barrier. The compressible thermal barrier is tailored in size (e.g., thickness, volume, etc.) to prevent thermal propagation between adjacent cells, modules and/or packs when a portion of an energy source has experienced a thermal event. The methods and systems mitigate thermal propagation such that a cell adjacent to a compromised cell (e.g., actively combusting cell) does not experience thermal runaway as it is shielded from dissipating heat and does not surpass a critical temperature. The present disclosure further relates to a battery module or pack with one or more battery cells and the compressible thermal barrier placed between adjacent cells.

  • Publication number: 20240313301
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to materials and systems to manage thermal runaway issues in battery modules. In exemplary embodiments, a battery module includes battery cells separated by spacer elements. To mitigate thermal runaway issues, spacer elements may be extended to the interior surface of the enclosure. A seal is formed between the spacer elements and the interior wall to form a thermal barrier between adjacent battery cells.

  • Patent number: 12094245
Abstract: In an illustrative embodiment, systems and methods for assisting users in identifying unknown individuals in photographs first apply facial recognition to obtain a first likelihood of match between a target face and other faces in a corpus of images provided by users of a genealogy platform, and then adjusts the first likelihood of match according to similarities and dissimilarities in attributes supplied by users regarding individuals represented by each face. Resultant likelihoods drive presentation of potential matches for consideration by a requesting user.

  • Publication number: 20240303759
Abstract: According to some embodiments, a system may include an additive manufacturing platform that provides additive manufacturing capability data. A customer platform, associated with a customer, may transmit an industrial asset item request for an industrial asset item. A digital transaction engine may receive the additive manufacturing capability data and the industrial asset item request. The digital transaction engine may then associate the industrial asset item request with an industrial asset definition file, and, based on the additive manufacturing capability data and the industrial asset definition file, assign the industrial asset item request to the additive manufacturing platform. The assignment of the industrial asset item request may be recorded via a secure, distributed transaction ledger. Responsive to the assignment, the additive manufacturing platform may create the industrial asset item (e.g., via an additive manufacturing printer) and provide the item to the customer.

  • Publication number: 20240301530
Abstract: A method and system for recovering a high yield of low carbon ferroalloy, e.g., low carbon ferrochrome, from chromite and low carbon ferrochrome produced by the method. A stoichiometric mixture of feed materials including scrap aluminum granules, lime, silica sand, and chromite ore are provided into a plasma arc furnace. The scrap aluminum granules are produced from used aluminum beverage containers. The feed materials are heated, whereupon the aluminum in the aluminum granules produces an exothermic reaction reducing the chromium oxide and iron oxide in the chromite to produce molten low carbon ferrochrome with molten slag floating thereon. The molten low carbon ferrochrome is extracted, solidified and granulated into granules of low carbon ferrochrome. The molten slag is extracted, solidified and granulated into granules of slag.
