  • Publication number: 20030226613
Abstract: This invention relates to a face-to-face weaving machine comprising upper (5) and lower spacers (6) for extending in the warp direction between two fabrics (12), (13) and a weft insertion device (2), (3), (4) for inserting weft yarns (22) between the spacers (5), (6), said spacers being carried out as a rigid element with a first (5c), (6c) and a second part (5B), (6B), the vertical intermediate distance between the first parts (5c), (6c) of the spacers (6) being shorter than said distance between the second parts (5B), (6B) such that the weft yarns (22) can be inserted between said second parts (5B), (6B).

  • Publication number: 20030136458
Abstract: This invention relates to an equipment of a weaving machine, in which pile warp yarns (7-13),(16-22) extend through the space between the reed dents and, distributed between a number of a number of pile warp yarn systems, are provided on the weaving machine in order to weave a pile fabric, while a group of pile warp yarns (7-22) extend through each space between the reed dents, comprising the pile warp yarns of at least two pile warp yarn systems (7-13),(16-22). Because of this it is possible to weave pile fabrics having higher pile densities at a certain reed setting.

  • Publication number: 20030056849
Abstract: This invention relates to a device for driving and guiding a rapier of a weaving machine, comprising a rotatable drive wheel (1) provided for driving a rapier rod (14) in a back and forth movement and a guide channel formed by adjustable guide bodies (10), (11) in order to guide the said rapier rod (14) according to a guide path in co-operation with the drive wheel (1), the guide bodies (10),(11) being part of a guide unit (9) which, as a whole, is adjustable in order to modify the distance between the guide path and the rotation shaft (2) of the drive wheel (1), and where the drive wheel (1) is continuously adjustable in the longitudinal direction of its shaft (2). With this device the clearances of the rapier rod with respect to the drive wheel can be performed easily, rapidly and with great precision, so that this device is able to work with a minimum development of heat and wear.

  • Publication number: 20020166602
Abstract: A device for presenting weft yarns (1), (2) to two (or more) rapiers provided above one another of a weaving machine, comprising two yarn carriers (14), which are movable between a receiving position, in which each yarn carrier (14) is able to receive a respective weft yarn (1), (2) to carry along this yarn, and a presenting position in which each yarn carrier (14) is able to present a weft yarn (1), (2) carried along to a respective rapier in order to insert this yarn into a shed. The presenting arms (3), (4) are rotatable above one another in respective intersecting planes of movement. Preferably, the upper presenting arm (3) is rotatable in a horizontal plane of movement, while the lower presenting arm (4) is rotatable in a plane of movement that is inclined downwards in the direction of the presenting position. With a similar presenting device the weft yarns can be taken up very close to the fell of the fabric and cut through, waste selvedges becoming unnecessary and weft yarns can be saved.

  • Publication number: 20020166598
Abstract: The invention relates to a weft yarn clamp for clamping and releasing weft yarns of a weaving machine, the weft yarn clamp comprising a first and a second clamping element, at least one clamping element of which is a clamping means controlled by an actuator and the actuator comprising a pneumatic system, controlling a clamping means working against a spring force.

  • Patent number: 4875507
Abstract: A process and apparatus for guiding the weft threads in looms comprising a weft guiding element which moves over three consecutive positions which coincide with the various phases of the weft insertion during weaving. In the carry position, the weft guiding element is positioned so that the weft thread crosses the path of the insertion rapiers and the cut-off end of the weft thread is firmly clamped by the clamping device of the weft scissors. Immediately after the weft thread is carried by the insertion rapiers into the shed, the weft guiding element moves downward towards the lay and forward towards the weft cutting device into the insertion position. The weft thread is now situated in the shed. As the beat-up movement of the reed begins, the weft guiding element moves simultaneously upward with the lay and forward towards the weft scissors, the beat-up position. The weft thread is now held in a virtually straight line, virtually parallel to the reed.
