  • Publication number: 20210002849
Abstract: A drill adaptor that offers a simple solution for drilling large diameter holes in the earth with a small to mid-sized excavator. The drill adaptor allows drilling to occur on un-level ground as it can move side to side, front to back, and vertically up and down. The drill adaptor is comprised of a slide tube that moves the drill attachment up and down, side to side, and front to back. The drill adaptor uses pins to secure the inner, outer, and lower pivot housings. The inner and outer pivot housing allows the slide tubews front to back and side to side motion as the lower pivot housing connects to the drill attachment and or drill rotator. The drill adaptor uses a cable and winch system that can also be exchanged for a rack and pinion system to complete the vertically up and down movements of the drill attachment. This drill adaptor allows for an efficient and compact means of drilling large diameter holes in un-level drilling surface within the earth.

  • Publication number: 20200371608
Abstract: In one example in accordance with the present disclosure, an electronic input device is described. The electronic input device includes a scribing shaft disposed within a housing, the scribing shaft to translate along a longitudinal axis as a result of contact with a substrate. The electronic input device also includes an input sensor. The input sensor includes a plate secured within the housing. The plate elastically deforms responsive to the translation of the scribing shaft. A full-bridge strain gauge of the input sensor is disposed on a surface of the plate. The full-bridge strain gauge detects a deformation of the plate and outputs a corresponding signal, which corresponding signal varies dependent upon the amount of deformation of the plate. The input sensor also includes a failure protection device to limit the deformation of the plate to within a predetermined amount.

  • Patent number: 10591965
Abstract: Various embodiments of methods and systems context-aware thermal management in a portable computing device (“PCD”) are disclosed. Notably, the environmental context to which a PCD is subjected may have significant impact on the PCD's thermal energy dissipation efficiency. Embodiments of the solution seek to leverage knowledge of a PCD's environmental context to modify or adjust thermal policy parameters applied within a PCD in response to a thermal event within the PCD.

  • Patent number: 10430490
Abstract: A method for providing metadata to a search engine for a document that is not in a mark-up language receives a request for contents of the document and locates metadata associated with the document. The method further creates name-value pairs for the metadata and provides to the search engine server a response comprising the name-value pair in an HTTP (or HTTPS) header and the contents of the document. In other implementations, a method includes sending a request for contents of the document and receiving a response to the request comprising an HTTP header with metadata about the document in a name-value pair and the document's content. The method also includes extracting the name-value pair from the HTTP header, creating a mark-up language tag for the name-value pair, and providing the make-up language tag and the contents of the document in a mark-up language format to a search index creation component.

  • Publication number: 20180224871
Abstract: Because the touch temperature of a wearable computing device (“WCD”) may be an insignificant factor for user experience when the WCD is not being worn by a user, embodiments of the solution seek to modify thermal management policies based on an inferred user proximity state. Exemplary embodiments monitor one or more signals from readily available sensors in the WCD that have primary purposes other than measuring user proximity. Depending on embodiment, the sensors may be selected from a group consisting of a heart rate monitor, a pulse monitor, an O2 sensor, a bio-impedance sensor, a gyroscope, an accelerometer, a temperature sensor, a pressure sensor, a capacitive sensor, a resistive sensor and a light sensor. Using the signals generated by such sensors, relative physical proximity of the WCD to a user may be inferred and, based on the user proximity state, thermal policies either relaxed or tightened.

  • Publication number: 20180157315
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems for proactive power and performance management of workloads in a portable computing device (“PCD”), such as, but not limited to, a virtual reality (“VR”) or augmented reality (“AR”) workload. An exemplary embodiment determines that a target application (or an application queued for execution) is compatible with a proactive throttling policy. Advantageously, for those applications that are compatible with a proactive throttling policy, embodiments of the solution may rely on historical performance data of those applications to preset performance parameters such that the PCD may deliver a consistent user experience over time uninterrupted by fluctuations in processing performance resulting from reactive thermal throttling policies.
