    Abstract: System and method for enriching a data stream with enrichment data. The system loads data from one or more customer data warehouses into a storage component using an ingest pipeline; receives, at an enrichment pipeline, an incoming data stream; determines, using the enrichment pipeline, an insertion point within the incoming data stream, the insertion point corresponding to a data object mention; determines, using the enrichment pipeline, enrichment data matching the data object mention, the enrichment data being retrieved from the storage component; augments, via the enrichment pipeline, the incoming data stream with the enrichment data at the determined insertion point to generate an enriched data stream, and transmits the enriched data stream to one or more destinations. The data stream can be an event stream. The enrichment data can be entity data. The system can use a reverse extract/transform/load (ETL) model to enable data ingesting and/or data stream enrichment.

    Abstract: A heating device, a resulting battery pack assembly, and the methods of making and using the same are provided. Such a battery pack assembly includes a plurality of battery cells, at least one current collection plate (CCP), and at least one heater layer. Each battery cell comprises two electrodes extending from a first side to a second side of the assembly. The CCP is disposed over a plurality of battery cells on the first side and/or the second side, is made of a first conductive material, and defines a plurality of first holes. Each first hole is disposed over a respective electrode. The CCP further includes at least one connection electrically connected with the respective electrode. The heater layer is disposed above the CCP, and includes a plurality of sections and each section corresponding to a respective battery cell. In each section the heater layer defines a second hole and includes a heating zone and a non-heating zone. The non-heating zone is disposed adjacent to an edge of the second hole.

A process of manufacturing an active material paste for a lead-acid battery includes: adding a rubber additive into a paste mixer with a lead compound to form a mix of additives; dry mixing the additives to form a dry mixture; adding water to the dry mixture; wet-mixing the water with the dry mixture to form a wet mixture; and pasting and curing an electrode grid with the wet mixture.

    Abstract: A combustor for a gas turbine engine includes a combustor liner with a wall defining a combustion chamber. The wall has an inner surface facing the combustion chamber and an outer surface across the wall from the inner surface. Fins are disposed on the outer surface. The wall defines air admission holes that extend through the wall from the outer surface to the inner surface. The wall also defines film cooling holes that extend through the wall from the outer surface to the inner surface. The fins are disposed in areas of the outer surface between the film cooling holes and the air admission holes to cool areas that would otherwise result in hot spots.

The plate elastically deforms responsive to the translation of the scribing shaft. A full-bridge strain gauge of the input sensor is disposed on a surface of the plate. The full-bridge strain gauge detects a deformation of the plate and outputs a corresponding signal, which corresponding signal varies dependent upon the amount of deformation of the plate. The input sensor also includes a failure protection device to limit the deformation of the plate to within a predetermined amount.

    Abstract: Because the touch temperature of a wearable computing device (“WCD”) may be an insignificant factor for user experience when the WCD is not being worn by a user, embodiments of the solution seek to modify thermal management policies based on an inferred user proximity state. Exemplary embodiments monitor one or more signals from readily available sensors in the WCD that have primary purposes other than measuring user proximity. Depending on embodiment, the sensors may be selected from a group consisting of a heart rate monitor, a pulse monitor, an O2 sensor, a bio-impedance sensor, a gyroscope, an accelerometer, a temperature sensor, a pressure sensor, a capacitive sensor, a resistive sensor and a light sensor. Using the signals generated by such sensors, relative physical proximity of the WCD to a user may be inferred and, based on the user proximity state, thermal policies either relaxed or tightened.
