Patent number: 7900587Abstract: A system and method for moving livestock includes a sequence of interconnected enclosures in which the periphery of each enclosure extends generally to the center of the next enclosure. At the center of each enclosure is a turret unit including a support frame, a turret frame and a panel. The panel extends generally to the edge of the enclosure. The turret frame and panel are capable of two modes of movement: a sweeping mode and a shuttle mode. In the sweeping mode, the turret frame rotates the extended panel as the panel sweeps around the semicircular enclosure. In the shuttle mode the panel is translated across the enclosure from one side of the turret frame to the other side of the turret frame. Panels can thus be alternately swept around their respective enclosures and shuttled across their respective enclosures to present translating enclosed areas for livestock as the livestock progress through a series of interconnected semicircular enclosures.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2005Date of Patent: March 8, 2011Inventor: Jon Davis Mollhagen

Patent number: 7832363Abstract: An adjustable livestock alleyway includes an alleyway frame, a center frame and first and second panels which define two side by side alleyways within the alleyway frame. The first and second panels are pivotably mounted to the center frame to pivot between a first open position in which the panels are pivoted toward the center frame and a second constricted position in which the panel are pivoted away from the center frame. A linkage connecting between the center frame and the first and second panels is powered by an actuator in order to pivot the first and second panels between the first and second positions such that the widths of both side by side alleyways may be changed to a desired width.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 2008Date of Patent: November 16, 2010Inventor: Jon Davis Mollhagen

Patent number: 7213539Abstract: An apparatus for urging livestock animals includes at least one alleyway which is defined by a frame having a stationary portion and a reciprocating portion. The reciprocating portion includes a paddle assembly including spaced pairs of pivtobably mounted paddles. The reciprocating frame swings between a rear position and a forward position. The paddles are mounted to the reciprocating frame such that the paddles may pivot forward but not backward to permit forward motion of a livestock animal and to apply force to the hind quarters of the livestock animal when the reciprocating frame moves forward or to prevent rearward movement of the livestock animal in the alleyway.Type: GrantFiled: October 10, 2004Date of Patent: May 8, 2007Inventor: Jon Davis Mollhagen

Patent number: 7208326Abstract: An edge protection process for semiconductor device fabrication includes forming a protective layer on the circumferential edge region of a semiconductor substrate. The semiconductor substrate is placed in a plasma atmosphere and trench structures, such as deep trenches and shallow trench isolation structures are etched in the substrate. The protective layer substantially prevents the etching of the circumferential edge region, such that the formation of black silicon is substantially minimized during the etching process.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2004Date of Patent: April 24, 2007Inventors: Michael Rennie, Jon Davis, Robert Fuller, Franz Hagl

Publication number: 20070062937Abstract: A kit for a one-handed support for a plate and a beverage comprises a plurality of interfitting flat components each having an equal thickness so that the aggregate of the components forming the kit is substantially flat and stackable. The kit includes a base which includes elongated upper and lower supports with aligned in a horizontally-oriented parallel arrangement with a hand-grippable connecting member perpendicularly oriented therebetween. A portion of the lower support forms a first component of a beverage support. A second beverage support component is insertable into the first component to form the beverage support. A plate support member having an platform portion is configured for placement on the upper support, and has an annular beverage grip extends therefrom. In use, a beverage can be inserted through the annular beverage grip and seated in the beverage support, and a user can hold the device by grasping the connecting member.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 2, 2005Publication date: March 22, 2007Inventors: Theodore Davis, Edwin Davis, Jon Davis

Publication number: 20060141846Abstract: A latex rubber cover molded to the base of the plugs on a construction type extension cord. When not in use, it is rolled back like rolling up the sleeve of a long sleeved shirt. When two cords with the latex cover are plugged into each other to make a longer cord, the latex cover on one plug is rolled onto itself and then onto the joined plug. When the cover is fully rolled out covering both plugs tightly, the latex cover on the joined plug is rolled out onto itself and the joined plug and on top of the first latex cover thus giving it a double seal on the joined plugs creating a waterproof joining of two extension cords. This also prevents the two plugs from pulling apart when being extended while being used.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 23, 2004Publication date: June 29, 2006Inventor: Jon Davis
