  • Patent number: 11240630
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for managing location-based service zones that are active during limited time periods. A notification of a trigger event relating to a location-based time zone can be received. The time the notification is received can be compared to time window that the location-based service zone is active. A notification of the trigger event is sent to a respective provider associated with the location-based service zone when the location-based service zone is active.

  • Patent number: 11224967
Abstract: A user location in a parking lot or other designated area may be identified based on sensor data, such as from one or more sensors in or around the designated area. Also within the designated area, a transport location of a transport associated with an order of the user may be identified based on image data provided by one or more cameras remote from the transport. The transport can be controlled to move from the identified transport location to the identified user location.

  • Patent number: 11042787
Abstract: This disclosure describes a system for automatically updating item image information stored in an item images data store and used for processing captured images to identify items represented in those images. In one implementation, once an identity of an item has been verified, captured images of that item are associated with the item and stored in the item images data store. As a result, the item images data store is updated each time an image of the item is captured and the identity of the item is verified.

  • Publication number: 20200279483
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed, in which two or more points of a target object from a two-dimensional (2D) image may be “reverse projected” from a 2D plane to a 3D space. The method may comprise receiving a 2D image from a 2D camera, the 2D image including a representation of a physical topography and a target object of a plurality of target objects, the plurality of target objects being associated with a common physical characteristic, the common physical characteristic of the target object being detectable within the 2D image. The method may further comprise determining a position relative to the physical topography of the target object based upon a position of the target object in the image and the common physical characteristic of the target object.

  • Patent number: 10531372
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for managing location-based service zones being monitored by a client device. The location-based service zones within a geographic region can be organized in location-based service zone clusters. In response to receiving an active zone from a computing device, a client device can begin monitoring the geographic parameters for the top-level location-based service zone clusters. When the client device detects an entry into a particular location-based service zone cluster, the client device stops monitoring the top-level location-based service zone clusters and begins monitoring the location-based service zones that are within the particular location-based service zone cluster.

  • Patent number: 10482421
Abstract: A user may order items that may be made available at a facility such as a pickup facility. Described are techniques for preparing and expediting an order for pick up by the user. In one implementation, geolocation data acquired from a user device may be used to determine when the user has entered a geofence associated with the facility. Based on this geolocation data and sensor data from sensors at the facility, a system may automatically identify the user. Once identified, the items in the order may be delivered to the user in a parking area of the pickup facility, who may then depart the pickup facility.

  • Patent number: 10462604
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for managing which location-based service zones to monitor when the number location-based service zones within a geographic region exceed the amount the device can support. An active zone defining a geographic region and location-based service zones within the geographic region is provided by another computing device. When the number of location-based service zones meets or exceeds a predefined threshold, a subset of the location-based service zones is selected for monitoring according to a current device location and/or other parameters.

  • Patent number: 10223596
Abstract: Systems and associated methods are disclosed to reduce wait time experienced by customers during order fulfillment and pick-up. The system utilizes cameras and automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) to quickly identify vehicles associated with customer accounts and pending pick-up orders upon arrival. Proximity detectors provide an additional layer of vehicle detection. A concierge tool provides manual inputs from a user relating to vehicle or customer status. The system provides for synthesis and fusion of these diverse input types to accurately detect and identify arriving and departing customers.
