  • Patent number: 8538942
Abstract: A method for sharing documents between on-demand services is provided. In an embodiment, a user of a first on-demand service may be able to view a list of content that includes content stored at the first on-demand service and content stored at a second on-demand service. The content of the second on-demand service may be associated with information about the content, allowing the content to be shared among multiple users of the first on-demand service. The user wanting to view the content, select or click on an indicator identifying the content, a connection to the second on-demand service is established, and images of the content are sent from the second on-demand service to the first on-demand service.

  • Publication number: 20130067434
Abstract: An embodiment generally relates to systems and methods for improving system performance by reducing fragility of computing systems. A processing module can identify separate ensemble files each comprising interpretations, by separate entities of a workflow, of a phrase in a file. The processing module can compare the interpretations to determine if the interpretations are the same or essentially the same. If the interpretations are neither the same nor essentially the same, a subsequent entity in the workflow can create a new file that replaces an associated interpretation of the phrase with a common interpretation. The subsequent entity can proceed with an intended operation.

  • Publication number: 20130055159
Abstract: A row displayed on a touchscreen surface of a portable electronic device is linked to a first resource and includes at least one link to a second resource. A technique allows the row to have a first tap target for accessing the first resource and a second tap target for accessing the second resource. An area of the first tap target is greater than an area of the second tap target. This provides a large surface area for tapping the first tap target in order to easily access the first resource. The second resource can still be accessed by tapping the second tap target.

  • Publication number: 20130018721
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for tracking user access to an advertisement and user transactions with an electronic commerce computer associated with the advertisement. In accordance with one aspect of the disclosed technology, a transaction tracking computer associates an identifier with each access (e.g., click) of an advertisement. Transactions that occur at the electronic commerce computer that are related to the advertisement will be reported to the transaction tracking server together with the identifier. In one embodiment, if the reported transaction is a duplicate of a previously reported transaction, then the reported transaction is determined to be invalid. In one embodiment, if the reported transaction occurs more than a predetermined amount of time after the time the identifier was initially generated, then the reported transaction will also be determined to be invalid.

  • Patent number: 8184307
Abstract: A book production method and system are disclosed. The method of book production allows an operator to input preferences for a multi-part workflow. The preferences can be communicated to a printer where the books are printed from a loaded plurality of book parts. There can be a deficient or excess number of loaded book parts in relation to that specified in a print job ticket. The user preferences can dictate how the book printer is to handle any deficiency or excess in the book parts. In such cases, the operator and the book printer can take appropriate action, and the book printer can indicate the status of the print job to the operator.

  • Patent number: 7758036
Abstract: A cover-driven book production method and system are disclosed. The method of cover-driven book production includes providing a plurality of book covers. The book covers can be identified using, for example, a scanner. A book block can then be retrieved from a book repository based on the identified cover. After performing raster image processing (RIP) of the book block, copies of the book block can be printed. Finishing can be accomplished by binding the printed book blocks to the book covers using an in-line binder or off-line binder.

  • Patent number: 7580561
Abstract: A compression and de-compression arrangement is provided for a display device having a display memory and a display. The arrangement includes a color processor which reduces the color samples by processing a pair of pixels to produce first and second luminance values and forming first and second output chrominance values from the pair of pixels. The first and second output chrominance values are formed by calculating for each pixel the corresponding U and V chrominance values and forming the first and second chrominance values (U, V) from the average of the values for each pixel. Forming the compressed representation of the color image provides an advantage when recovering the original image, particularly for example where the image contains detail and/or text. The image processing apparatus of the system receives the group of color component signal samples from the display memory and generates first and second output pixels, each comprising three color component values (R, G, B), from each group.

  • Publication number: 20090024089
Abstract: A dilator assembly used for the dilatation of vessel, tracts, or cavities. The dilator assembly comprises a hub portion, a shaft portion, and a long tapered tip portion having a taper no greater than 4 Fr per 1 cm. In certain aspects, the taper of the tapered tip portion is between approximately 1 Fr per 1 cm to 1 Fr per 1.5 cm. The present invention obviates the need for pre-dilatation. The dilator shaft portion and/or the distal tapered tip portion are flexible, providing excellent tractability, being capable of bending along a guide wire with minimal physical force and without kinking, to tract the curvature of a vessel, tract, or cavity. Additionally, a section of the shaft portion can be is capable of similarly bending along a guide wire. The present invention functions as a dilator, and tracts like a catheter over a guide wire.
