  • Publication number: 20180237124
Abstract: A roll control system controls roll control surfaces of an aircraft that are capable of causing the aircraft to perform a roll maneuver by respectively deflecting in upward and downward directions. The roll control system includes deflection limiter units for respectively limiting angles of deflection of the roll control surfaces, and further includes deflection rate limiter units for respectively limiting rates of deflection of the roll control surfaces. The deflection limiter unit limits the roll control surfaces to deflection distances and deflection rates based at least in part on the deflection direction of the roll control surfaces. For a given set of flight conditions, such as airspeed, if a roll control surface is deflecting upwardly, it is less limited by the roll control system in terms of deflection distance and deflection rate than if the roll control surface is deflecting downwardly.

  • Publication number: 20180232464
Abstract: Techniques facilitating automatic transformation of a multitude of disparate types of input data into a holistic, self-contained, reference database format that can be rendered at varying levels of granularity are provided. A system can comprise a memory that stores computer executable components and a processor that executes the computer executable components stored in the memory. The computer executable components can comprise a data manager component that receives first data and second data from a source entity and an analysis component that adds a first metadata to the first data based on a first set of content, and adds a second metadata to the second data based on a second set of content. Further, the computer executable components can comprise an output component that renders aggregated content at varying viewing granularity levels based on a request for a holistic life view of the target entity.

  • Publication number: 20180169499
Abstract: A golf chipping and putting training device supports a bucket at an angle for a golfer to practice chipping golf balls. The device includes a base support assembly configured to adjustably support the bucket at a selected angle. The device has a frontal face with a lower opening that is designed to simulate a true 4¼ inch green cup hole. A target assembly presents a target in the bucket opening. Depending on the clip mount, the flag is either static mounted or may act as a signal flag that is operable in response to a golf ball striking the target.

  • Publication number: 20180171300
Abstract: Formulations and methods are disclosed for the harvesting and subsequent passaging of human pluripotent stem cells without the use of enzymes and/or scraping to dislodge cells from cell culture vessels. The formulations and methods permit the harvesting of cells as large clusters from the surface of various cell culture vessels including multilayer cell culture vessels. Further, the formulations and methods provide high yields of harvested cells for subsequent passaging and high post-harvest cell viability. Pluripotent stem cells passaged with the formulations according to the methods remain undifferentiated and express typical stem cell markers, while, at the same time, they retain the differentiation capability and arc able to differentiate into the cells in all three germ layers and generate teratomas, even after numerous rounds of harvesting and passaging. These hPSCs also maintain normal karyotype after passaged with the formulations for extended period of time.

  • Publication number: 20180168738
Abstract: A method uses an electromagnetic tracking system, including a number of field transmitters and at least one receiver, to determine location information associated with a medical device. The method includes transmitting a set of electromagnetic signals, each signal having a frequency that is different than a frequency associated with each of the other signals, where each signal corresponds to a sum of sinusoidal functions, each of which includes an amplitude and a frequency. A field signal is received, and includes an undistorted field component and a distortion component. The amplitudes and frequencies of the sinusoidal functions are selected such that the distortion component includes a residual error arising from terms of at least a specified order in frequency. Field components corresponding to the field transmitters are extracted from the received signal, and the location information is determined based on the field components.

  • Patent number: 9823909
Abstract: Methods and systems for program code conversion for cross-platform compatibility are disclosed. A plurality of original function calls are identified in an original program. The original program is targeted to a first platform, and the original function calls comprise invocations of a plurality of functions implemented on the first platform. It is determined whether individual ones of the original function calls correspond to alternative function calls in an index. For the original function calls that correspond to the alternative function calls in the index, the original function calls are replaced with corresponding alternative function calls in a modified program. The modified program is targeted to a second platform, and the alternative function calls comprise invocations of a plurality of functions implemented on the second platform.

  • Publication number: 20170092014
Abstract: A system and method for voltage-guided anatomical shell editing includes outputting, to a display device, an anatomical shell of a cardiac structure. The anatomical shell is based on signals sensed by a mapping probe, each signal including a respective sensed voltage. User input specifying a first target depth for editing is received, as is a selection of a first region of the anatomical shell. A modified anatomical shell is generated by removing a first portion of the anatomical shell including the selected first region to a first editing depth based on the first target depth and generating a new surface region on the modified anatomical shell. Based on the voltage associated with the new surface region, the edit can be maintained, undone, and/or modified.

  • Patent number: 9470060
Abstract: A device and method for use is provided for grippingly engaging a tubular, in particular for gripping a wellbore casing. Drillable bridge plugs may use hardened buttons or other slip arrangements and materials that may be susceptible to damage when the bridge is being run into the wellbore. It may be desirable to protect the slip ring or the hardened buttons by shielding the buttons during run-in or by providing a standoff device so that the buttons may be prevented from contacting the casing until desired.

  • Publication number: 20160129407
Abstract: A system to increase the speed of alcohol fermentation and/or maturation by means of induced waves that can have its frequency and intensity matched to the target application. This system can be deployed using two different architectures. The first is by direct immersion of “self-powered” device into the target medium, which irradiate the fluid, its contents, and its storage container with vibratory and/or sonic energy. These devices can take several forms such as spheres, cubes or any other geometric shape and can be configured with sensors to detect the quality of the medium. Also, the devices can change its buoyancy depending on the conditions of the medium. This change of buoyancy can be utilized to optimize the delivery of vibratory and/or sonic energy to the medium, improve energy transfer from an external power source, or indicate the level of alcohol/content of the medium.
