  • Publication number: 20190129939
Abstract: A system, method and computer program product for cognitive copy and paste. The method includes: receiving, at a hardware processor of a computer system, an input representing a selection of a content captured from a source application program, and receiving an input representing an identified target application program that will receive the selected content to be copied and rendered in the target application program. The selected content is analyzed to determine a context for the selected content; and a rendering of the selected content at a location within the destination application based on the determined context, the rendering achieving a best representation of the selected content on the destination application. The analyzing includes invoking a natural language processor to determine an intent, meaning, or an intended use of the selected content based on the determined context, and employs a support vector machine for determining a best format change when rendering.

  • Publication number: 20190132138
Abstract: A system and method is presented for storing a location on a blockchain of a hash, such as a cryptographic hash, digital fingerprint, or digest, of a digital item, such as a document, file, sound clip, or computer code, within the digital item itself. The blockchain may be used for providing a provenance of the digital item by generating the hash of the digital item and submitting it within a transaction to the blockchain. The system and method presented allow the location of the hash within the blockchain to be embedded within the digital item before said hash is generated and submitted, providing a clear link between a record of the hash and the digital item in question, and reducing the computational and network resources required to verify the provenance of the digital item.

  • Publication number: 20190132788
Abstract: Embodiments of a station (STA) and method for ranging in accordance with Neighborhood Awareness Network (NAN) communication are generally described herein. An initiator STA may determine, for a data service that is to be established between the initiator STA and a responder STA on a NAN data link, whether a ranging procedure is to be performed for the data service. As part of the ranging procedure, range measurements or fine timing may be determined. When the ranging procedure is to be performed for the data service, ranging configuration parameters may be included in data request messages, publish messages and other messages sent by the STAs 103. In some cases, the STAs 103 may refrain from exchanging separate messages for communication of ranging information.

  • Publication number: 20190127920
Abstract: The present invention is directed to products, such as paper and paperboard products, comprising a substrate containing cellulose and top ply comprising microfibrillated cellulose and inorganic particulate, to methods of making such paper and paperboard products, and associated uses of such paper and paperboard products. The microfibrillated cellulose and inorganic particulate material are applied at the stage when the wet substrate is in the process of being formed on the wire of a papermaking machine, thereby avoiding the additional cost of more extensive equipment and machinery as well as in separate drying of a coating. The microfibrillated cellulose facilitates the application of inorganic particulate onto the surface of a wet paper or paperboard substrate when applied thusly, by trapping the inorganic particulate on the surface of the substrate and by giving the composite sufficient strength and a suitable pore structure to make it suitable for printing and other end-use demands.
