  • Patent number: 9188586
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system, device, and method for the high throughput multiplexed detection of a wide number of compounds. The invention comprises of a microwell array coupled to a capture agent array to form a plurality of interfaces between a microwell and a set of immobilized capture agents. The set of capture agents comprises a plurality of distinguishable features, with each feature corresponding to the detection of a particular compound of interest. In certain embodiments, each microwell is configured to contain a single cell. The invention is therefore capable of performing a high throughput analysis of single cell profiles, including profiles of secreted compounds.

  • Publication number: 20150248717
Abstract: A commercial service supporting system is disclosed. The commercial service supporting system includes a smart phone, a supporting server and a product server. By using application software (APP) installed in the smart phone, connection between the smart phone and the supporting server over internet is achieved. The supporting server can interactively provide services to the smart phone user. The system can save lots cost since telephone call communication is replaced by internet communication.

  • Publication number: 20150229487
Abstract: A platform-agnostic conferencing system including a media transceiver allowing a virtual collaboration and sharing system allowing a publisher to share media content to multiple viewers. Multiple participants are able to view the shared media, even if each is using different and incompatible platforms, by negotiating connections from differing protocols. Illustrative protocols include, but are not limited to, WebRTC, Flash, and HLC. Additionally, a mixer “multicasts” the content from one user and facilitates the retransmission to the participating differing end-users. Participant identities include an identifier for each participant engaging the collaboration space. The participants occupying the collaboration space can be automatically and dynamically determined. In this way participant roles can be changed from “publisher” to “viewer” and vice versa.

  • Publication number: 20150067472
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices are directed towards identifying a web browser by targeting a document parser component in a layout engine of a web browser. Malformed HTML may be provided to a client device having the web browser. Based on how the layout engine responds to the received malformed HTML, a fingerprint can be generated classifying/identifying a class, type, and other features of the web browser/layout engine. Other fingerprinting techniques may be combined with this malformed HTML approach to improve an accuracy of web browser identification, or to be used to detect/counter user-agent spoofing. Identification of the web browser/layout engine may then be used, among other things, to provide web content that is formatted to be useable by the receiving client device.

  • Patent number: 8916116
Abstract: The invention provides a process for the leaching of a laterite ore, concentrate, tailings or waste rock for the recovery of value metals, at least one value metal being nickel. The laterite ore or concentrate is subjected to a leaching step with a lixiviant comprising hydrochloric acid to leach nickel from the laterite ore, followed by a liquid/solids separation step. The liquid obtained is subject to solvent extraction with a dialkyl ketone, to obtain a solution rich in iron and a raffinate. Separation of iron from cobalt and nickel is obtained.

  • Patent number: 8908545
Abstract: A system and method for improving TCP performance in a L2 tunneling environment by snooping TCP/IP packets from the tunnel interface, terminating TCP locally and proxying TCP data in separate TCP connections. In particular, the system and method detects an encapsulated outgoing packet utilizing a Layer 2 tunneling protocol, processes a Point to Point Protocol layer in the outgoing packet to establishing Layer 2 tunneling protocol for a connection. The system and method also removes the Point to Point Protocol layer from the outgoing packet and inspects the outgoing packet for TCP information in the packet. The system and method forwards the outgoing packet to a locally driven application protocol path if TCP information is present, wherein the outgoing packet is encapsulated in association with the application protocol path.

  • Patent number: 8821970
Abstract: This disclosure features use of a paper or polymer film that includes a slip agent that can transfer to its surfaces. Once the paper or film is pressed against a glass sheet, this will leave a thin surface roughness of slip agent that can prevent or reduce glass surface scratches from other surfaces or particles during shipping or finishing (e.g., cutting to size, conveyance of glass), thereby improving the yield of glass shipments between glass forming plants and customers. The thin discontinuous layer of slip agent remaining on the glass surface can be washed off easily in subsequent washing processes. The paper or film can have the slip agent imbibed within the paper or coated on it as a surface member.

  • Patent number: 8804504
Abstract: A system and method for reducing processing load on an encapsulated data packet transmitted over a virtual private network. The method includes handling an initial encapsulated data packet to be transmitted over an established VPN tunnel connection to a receiving device, the initial encapsulated data packet having a Layer 2 (L2) protocol header, an IP data packet and at least one framing element; removing the at least one framing element; removing the L2 protocol header; appending an alternate L2 encapsulated protocol header to the IP data packet to generate a modified encapsulated data packet, wherein the alternate header contains information of the IP data packet; and sending the modified encapsulated data packet to the receiving device, wherein the alternate encapsulated protocol header allows the receiving device to handle the IP data packet using less computational resources in comparison to receiving the initial encapsulated data packet.

  • Patent number: 7730379
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for ECC (error code correction) are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, for example, a method for ECC can include receiving a data stream, decoding the data stream according to a first directional ECC scheme, and decoding the data stream according to a second directional ECC scheme. The method also includes outputting an indication of ECC failure if an error count of the first directional ECC scheme or the second directional ECC scheme is below a first threshold value. The method further includes outputting an indication of ECC failure if an unmodified count of the first directional ECC scheme or the second directional ECC scheme is below a second threshold value.

  • Patent number: 7356753
Abstract: A method and apparatus for ECC (error code correction) adopts a first directional first decoding, a first directional second decoding with a greater error tolerant ability than the first directional first decoding, a second directional first decoding, and a second directional second decoding with a greater error tolerant ability than the second directional first decoding. The ECC method includes steps of: read to be decoded; if there exists at least one solution cannot be efficiently solved after continuous executing the first directional first decoding and the second directional second decoding, execute the decoding action according to a predetermined flow control rule; if there exists no correction performed during the ECC decoding and switch to the other directional decoding, the un-modified value is added by one; and if the un-modified value reached a maximum un-modified value, an ECC failure is confirmed and then stop the ECC decoding.

  • Publication number: 20060106556
Abstract: A method and hardware design is disclosed for allowing the bring-up of a large scale system of interfaces that need to undergo a sequence of calibration steps. The method involves the use of a flexible broadcast scheme whereby groups of interfaces within a chip are assigned to groups to which commands can be broadcast. The scheme allows for the maximum amount of flexibility, allowing interfaces to be assigned to multiple groups which can overlap and be subsets of one another, and still allows for groups to be excluded from broadcast commands and be access individually. A method is also disclosed for using a chip-global status summary that can be accessed as any other register on the chip and can report calibration results for an entire chip with only one command. According to the invention a service utilizing the method embodied with code for implementing the method can now be provided.
