Patent number: 11882148Abstract: Systems and methods are presented for mitigating cyber threats. Cybersecurity-related data are stored in a semantic cybersecurity database. A user interface converts a user input to a command utterance. A command node that corresponds to the command utterance is identified in the cybersecurity database. The command node is resolved to one or more action nodes that are connected to the command node, and each action node is resolved to one or more parameter nodes that are connected to the action node. The command node has a command that implements actions indicated in the action nodes. Each action can have one or more required parameters indicated in the parameter nodes. The values of the required parameters are obtained from the command utterance, prompted from the user, or obtained from the cybersecurity database. Actions with their parameter values are executed to mitigate a cyber threat in accordance with the user input.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 2021Date of Patent: January 23, 2024Assignee: Trend Micro IncorporatedInventors: Josiah Dede Hagen, David Girard, Jonathan Edward Andersson, Vincenzo Ciancaglini, Jannis Weigend, Ahmed M. Patent number: 11851089Abstract: Systems and methods for mitigating damage caused by hail storms to self-driving motor-vehicles. When a self-driving motor vehicle determines or learns that a hail storm or other severe weather event may be approaching, it may seek cover under a protective structure or some other location where it might not be as exposed to the severe weather event. Depending upon the availability of suitable shelters, the self-driving motor vehicle might, for example, obtain a list of such possible shelters and apply certain factors to develop a priority list as to which shelters to seek. The self-driving motor vehicle may then drive itself to the location and remain there at least for the duration of the hail storm or other event. In some cases, the self-driving motor vehicle may evaluate the adequacy of the protective structure or other location, and may decide to seek a better protective structure or location.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 2022Date of Patent: December 26, 2023Assignee: United Services Automobile Association (USAA)Inventors: Cynthia Ann Hinojosa, Andrew Jacob Contreras, Lemont Williamson, Igor Alexandre Gregorio, Stephen Anthony Young, Jonathan Edward Seaton, Chris Aaron Bodden, Shirley Elizabeth Bunton, Shayna Dickson, Ric M. Publication number: 20230401081Abstract: Isolating resources of a virtual machine (VM) guest from a host operating system. A computer system receives an acceptance request from a guest partition corresponding to an isolated VM. The acceptance request identifies a guest memory page that is mapped into a guest physical address space of the guest partition, and a memory page visibility class. The computer system determines whether a physical memory page that is mapped to the guest memory page meets the memory page visibility class. The computer system sets a page acceptance indication for the guest memory page from an unaccepted state to an accepted state based on the physical memory page meeting the memory page visibility class.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 10, 2022Publication date: December 14, 2023Inventors: Jin LIN, David Alan HEPKIN, Michael Bishop EBERSOL, Stephanie Sumyi LUCK, Jonathan Edward LANGE, Bruce J. Patent number: 11821966Abstract: An optically pumped, atomic magnetometer incorporates a feedback system for stabilizing the magnetic bias field and suppressing unwanted background fields. The magnetic bias field is applied to a vapor cell containing host atoms of two different species, each of which resonates at a different Larmor frequency when both are subjected to the same magnetic bias field. One species provides the feedback for stabilizing the bias field, thereby creating a stabilizing magnetometer portion that nulls out the unwanted background fields. The other species provides magnetic field detection or signal reception on a radio communication frequency of interest, thereby creating a signal magnetometer portion that permits detection of the signal at the radio communication frequency.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2021Date of Patent: November 21, 2023Assignee: National Technology & Engineering Solutions of Sandia, LLCInventors: Peter D.
