  • Publication number: 20110127804
Abstract: A snap post for use in conjunction with a snap lid to attach a trim ring to an opening of a headliner of an automotive vehicle is provided. The snap post includes an elongated leg extending outwardly from the trim ring. The elongated leg has a barb for engaging with the snap lid disposed on a distal end thereof. A support structure provides the elongated leg with sufficient reinforcement to withstand the stress imposed during the installation of the headliner, yet provides sufficient flexibility for the quick and easy attachment of the trim ring to the opening of the headliner.

  • Publication number: 20110101726
Abstract: A headliner assembly configured to retain a visor to the headliner. The headliner has an outer surface opposite an inner surface, and a visor rod aperture. The visor rod aperture is in communication with the inner and outer surface. The headliner assembly including a clip configured to retain an end portion of the visor rod. The clip is disposed on the inner surface of the headliner. The headliner assembly further includes a base having a first portion configured to retain the clip and a second portion. The outer edge of the second portion extends a predetermined distance from the first portion so as to create a moment in equal magnitude of the moment experienced by the clip when the visor rod is installed.

  • Publication number: 20100226845
Abstract: Hopcalite-type catalysts for oxidation of CO are formed by preparing a mixed-metal oxide precursor by firstly preparing a solution of a mixture of metal precursor compounds in a solvent, followed by contacting the solution with a supercritical antisolvent to precipitate the mixed-metal oxide precursor. A mixed-metal oxide may then be prepared from the precursor by oxidation, for example by calcination. The mixed-metal oxide is then collected and optionally activated for use as a catalyst. The activated or calcined catalyst contains a nano-structured mixed-phase composition comprising phase-separated intimately mixed nanoparticles of copper and manganese oxide.

  • Publication number: 20100118449
Abstract: This invention relates to a nulling current transformer. More particularly, this invention relates to a nulling current transformer for accurately detecting current and giving an improved response, accuracy and stability using toroidal current transformer technology along with active components. This invention finds particular application in switchgear devices such as residual current devices and metering operations. The nulling current transformer is implemented in a closed magnetic core having at least one primary winding inductively coupled thereto. A secondary winding is also inductively coupled to said magnetic core, the secondary winding being responsive to any magnetic flux generated in said magnetic core. A separate tertiary winding is also inductively coupled to said magnetic core, the tertiary winding being responsive to any magnetic flux generated in the magnetic core.

  • Publication number: 20100014197
Abstract: This invention relates to a method and apparatus of detecting and compensating for DC residual fault currents on electrical systems. In particular, the present invention relates to a method and apparatus which is capable of accurately detecting one or more parameters of the fault current waveform and generating a compensation factor which compensates for specific pulsed DC fault components present. In this way, trip sensitivity is optimised for all types of fault current waveforms. In a preferred embodiment, the present invention operates by detecting one or more parameters of the encoded fault current waveform and generating a measure of symmetry comparing the mean squared values of negative and positive sections of said encoded fault current waveform. In use, various bands of the ratio of the mean squared sum of the positive and negative sections of said encoded fault current wave-form are obtained, and a compensation factor is determined from a look-up table stored in a processing means.

  • Publication number: 20090162024
Abstract: The invention provides a mechanism to allow users to demarcate a section of a media's timeline at the desire of the user. The system takes an existing media recording (examples include but are not limited to video and audio), obtained through various mechanisms, and allows the user to mark one or more sections of the media's timeline for later reference. The highlighted section data will be stored in such a fashion that the author of the highlights as well as other users may view the highlighted sections of the media while still retaining the ability to experience the media in its entirety. The demarcation data, relating the media to the author of the demarcation, and the demarcation data itself can be stored as meta-data related to the media to be later merged with the media at the time of playback to create the new function of media plus demarcations to be viewed at that time.

  • Publication number: 20090063064
Abstract: This invention relates to a residual current device which is able to safely and reliably operate when a line voltage is present (voltage dependent mode) and when the line voltage is not present or falls below a predetermined threshold level (voltage independent mode). The present invention is implemented as a residual current device having a trip mechanism for isolating an electric supply to an electrical installation upon detection of a predetermined current imbalance between the line and neutral conductors of said electric supply. The present invention comprises a current transformer having a secondary winding responsive to any current imbalance on said electrical installation, and a circuit protection winding being connectable to a processing means.

  • Patent number: 7468871
Abstract: A residual current device (RCD) protects a circuit by tripping in response to an imbalance signal representative of residual current imbalance in the circuit. The RCD trips the circuit when the imbalance signal exceeds a predetermined threshold rating. The RCD includes a sense coil for generating the imbalance signal and a test coil for introducing a simulation residual current imbalance into the device so as to increase the imbalance signal. A processor monitors the imbalance signal and determines the simulation residual current imbalance required to increase the imbalance signal to a level that corresponds to the predetermined threshold rating so that the sense coil senses the sum of any residual current imbalance in the circuit being protected and the simulation residual current imbalance in order to test operation of the RCD against the predetermined threshold rating.
