  • Publication number: 20230228551
Abstract: The invention provides a method of inspecting a wind turbine blade. The method includes providing a defect inspection tool having an array of pins, the pins being displaceable in an axial direction relative to one another. The method includes positioning the defect inspection tool against a defect on the wind turbine blade to cause displacement of at least some of the pins in the axial direction, the displaced pins describing a contour representative of a contour of the defect. The method includes determining dimensions f the defect by inspecting the contour described by the displaced pins. Advantageously, the invention provides for a more accurate determination as to whether a defect needs to be repaired.

  • Patent number: 11668174
Abstract: A method and system pulse for treating a plurality of wells simultaneously includes applying a high pressure of fracturing fluid to one or more switching valves and repeatedly opening and closing the one or more switching valves to divert the fracturing fluid near instantaneously from one well to the other well to creating a pulse wave into the plurality of wells for fracturing subterranean formations. The one or more switching valves may be a single 3-way valve incorporating the function of two or more switching valves. This technique reduces wear of surface equipment including high pressure pumps that need only provide a constant pressure.

  • Patent number: 11546332
Abstract: Methods and systems for establishing a chain of relationships are disclosed. An identity verification platform receives a first request for registration comprising an identification of a first user, identification of an entity, and a relationship between the first user and the entity; verifies the identity of the first user and the relationship between the first user and the entity; and verifies that the entity is legitimate. Once a relationship between a first individual, invited by the first user, and the entity is confirmed, the platform creates a custom badge representing the relationship between the first individual and the entity for display on the entity's website. The platform receives an identification of a selection by an end user of the custom badge and, responsive to receiving the identification of the selection, renders, on a domain controlled by the identity verification platform, a verification that the relationship between the first individual and the entity is valid.

  • Patent number: 11448182
Abstract: A method of making a wind turbine blade is described. The wind turbine blade comprises first and second half shells joined together and a shear web bonded between inner surfaces of the respective half shells. The blade is made in a one-stage join up process, which involves supporting the half shells in respective mould halves, and arranging one of the half shells on top of the other half shell with the shear web arranged between the two half shells. Adhesive is provided between the shear web and the inner surfaces of the respective half shells. During the join-up process, the shear web is supported by stabilisers. The use of stabilisers avoids the need for a jig to support the shear web. Stabilisers attached to an inboard end of the shear web may remain accessible after the join-up and can be removed.

  • Publication number: 20220234969
Abstract: This present disclosure relates to a catalytic process for upgrading crude and/or refined fusel oil mixtures to higher value renewable 2-methyl-2-butene, via novel doped alumina catalysts. It was found that passing a vaporized stream of crude and/or refined fusel oils over doped alumina catalysts provides renewable 2-methyl-2-butene in high yields in a single step. Subsequent downstream purification of the reactor effluent results in a renewable 2-methyl-2-butene at competitive price and quality to fossil fuel derived 2-methyl-2-butene.
