  • Publication number: 20150314536
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a wind turbine blade using pre-fabricated stacks of reinforcing material is described. The stacks 14 comprise a plurality of plies of fibre material, joined together along a side edge to form a spine. The opposite edges of the stack are left unjoined so that the plies can separate and slide across one another. In doing so, the stacks can be stored flat, but on installation into a curved mould 12 profile, the plies may slide to adopt the curved shape of the mould. The stacks extend from a point near the leading or trailing edge of the mould to an intermediate point on the mould surface. The stacks may be used to construct the thickened root section of a wind turbine blade.

  • Patent number: 9131873
Abstract: A foot pad device includes a foot pad, force sensors that provide force data, sensor electronics coupled to the force sensors, and a processor. The foot pad includes a ball region configured to be located under a ball of the foot of the user or a heel region configured to be located under a heel of the foot of the user. At least a portion of the force sensors is located in the ball region or the heel region of the foot pad. The sensor electronics include a flexible circuit with force sensor connection paths adapted to transmit force data from the force sensors and are configured to condition the force data to be within a conditioned force data range. The processor is configured to calculate a weight value based on the conditioned force data, a gain value, and an offset value.

  • Patent number: 9125610
Abstract: An oral cancer screening device 10 used for the detection of pre-cancerous and cancerous tissue has a power supply 100, an illumination source 200, a selector switch 300 that enables the activation of a specific wavelength of light from the illumination source 200, an electrical system 400 in communication with the selector switch 300 and the illumination source 200, a heat sink 500 in thermal communication with the illumination source, a filter or cover 600 to protect the illumination source, and a transparent sheath 700 for providing a sanitary shield for the device when it is brought into contact or close proximity with the patient oral cavity. The sheath may optionally have an angled mirror incorporated at a distal end of the sheath to provide the operator with a reflected image of the illuminated tissue 900. The operator will optionally utilize head mounted lenses 800 to assist the operator's visualization of the light from the illuminated oral cavity.

  • Publication number: 20150220657
Abstract: This invention relates to query management. A query management method includes receiving a database query, generating an abstract syntax tree representation of the database path query into a set of java objects, and processing the abstract syntax tree representation of the database path query. The method further includes determining a selector upon processing the abstract syntax tree representation of the database path query and deriving a SELECT clause from the selector clause, where the SELECT clause indicates a portion of an expression from an XMeta Query Language (XMQL) query. The method yet further includes appending a FROM clause to the expression for the XMQL query, appending a WHERE clause to the expression for the XMQL query, and executing the expression for the XMQL query including the appended FROM clause and also the appended WHERE clause to access objects in an object repository.
