    Abstract: A backlight assembly includes a light guide plate including a light incident face, a light exiting face extended from one end portion of the light incident face, and a reflection face extended from another end portion of the light incident face. The reflection face includes a first reflection face extended from another end portion of the light incident face, and a second reflection face horizontally extended from the first reflection face. The backlight assembly additionally includes a light adsorption member disposed adjacent to the reflection face to prevent the light from reflecting. A reflection plate and optical sheets are disposed adjacent to the light guide plate, so that entire thickness of the backlight assembly is reduced. In addition, leakage of the light incident around the third light exiting face is prevented to improve the quality of the image displayed through the LCD device.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display has a mold frame divided into several parts. The liquid crystal display device includes a display unit for displaying an image, a back light assembly having a light source for generating a light, a light guiding plate for guiding the light, and a light focusing portion for focusing the light, and a mold frame divided into a first frame and a second frame. The mold frame receives the display unit and the back light assembly. The first frame receives the light guiding plate and the light focusing portion and the second frame receives the light source. A reflection sheet is integrally formed at an inner surface of the second frame so as to perform the function of a lamp reflector. Accordingly, a lamp cover is not required so that the number of parts and the manufacturing cost are reduced. A lamp can be exchanged by simply separating the second frame from the mold frame, so the fault of the light source caused by the friction with other elements is reduced when exchanging the lamp.

The lamp unit (210, 220) and the first receiving container (300) are received in a second receiving container (500) having a second bottom surface (550) and a second sidewall (510). A heat transfer member (261, 263) comprised of metal material having superior heat conductivity makes contact with the second receiving container (500) through the lamp unit (210, 220). The heat emitted from the lamp unit (210, 263) and discharged to exterior. Accordingly, the backlight assembly and the LCD apparatus may improve display characteristics thereof.

The invention reduces the degradation of display quality caused by an uneven expansion of the reflective sheet in a display device. The reflective sheet may be positioned between the light guiding plate and the base in a backlight assembly of a display device. The backlight assembly includes a light source, a light guiding plate positioned to guide light from the light source in a predetermined direction, a base on which the light guiding plate is mounted, and a reflective sheet positioned between the light guiding plate and the base. The reflective sheet has a cutout. A supporting structure extends through the cutout between the light guiding plate and the base to support the light guiding plate. A liquid crystal display device made with such backlight assembly is also presented.

The shielding member comprising conductive material is coated on surface of a diffusing plate to have mesh shape. The shielding member is filled into groove formed on the surface of the diffusing plate to have mesh shape. Accordingly, the electromagnetic waves may be shielded from the LCD panel. Furthermore, the shielding member makes electrical contact with the chassis of the LCD device through various ground members so as to be connected to an earth potential, thereby being stabilized electrically. Accordingly, display quality of the LCD device is improved. A conductive tape is used as the ground member, and the conductive tape is strongly fixed to the chassis of the LCD device by means of conductive fixing clip or conductive screw.
